I've said it several times, the gender critical movement harms all women. Any women who doesn't meet the criteria of what a woman "should look like" is at risk of being wrongly accused of being trans.

Also makes me wonder about that other thread about FWSSport. If a woman with alopecia plays sport with other women are people who are gender critical going to mistake her as a man and report her to FWSSport who will store data on her?

The woman who tweeted this is GC

I’ve always found the term ‘gender critical’ very divisive and unhelpful. It seems like a term applied by one group to put another group down.
The attached Tweets seem biased towards anti-misogyny, or fairness in sport.
Everyone has rights to fair treatment but, more importantly, as independent adults we have a responsibility not to negatively impact on others be they men, trans or women.

The butchest, most butch women with shaved heads, still look like women.

Chinny reckon on this one.

Yet some have been stopped

Funny how people take it as gospel it must have happened if it's a "gender critical' anecdote on here, but as soon it's not fitting in with your view it's "chinny reckon" "must be lying's" all round.

We trust gc people more than any tra because gc people generally tend to use facts and truth whereas TRAs tend to use lies, decit, misrepresentation and hyperbole. As such we generally take anything said by a TRA with a dumper truck of salt

IsadoraQuagmire · 13/10/2024 15:46

Yeah, right! Men and women look completely different whether they have hair or not. Also, I've seen many masculine/butch women and never for a second taken them for men. One mentally unbalanced women might have thought she was male, but not several women. Totally made-up!

Hunnymonster1 · 13/10/2024 15:46

For those doubting this woman on this teeet she says she had a comment saying she looked like a sick old man so maybe someone has thought she looked like a man as she is muscular to

One woman yes it was one woman so not made up you don’t know that do u . The point is that this does happen

Missingpotatocroquettes · 13/10/2024 15:48

People on here always insist that a real woman could never be mistaken for a man. It's happened to me more than a couple of times though 🤷‍♀️. I'm just tall and had a shaved head at the time.

wrongthinker · 13/10/2024 15:48

Hunnymonster1 · 13/10/2024 15:39

So you don’t believe a woman yet if said woman said that a trans woman had been there and been rude you would believe her? The thing is I have read a few stories now where women have been shouted at from using loos by women who assume they are trans maybe they are butch, or maybe like this example.

Yeah I don't really believe it happened as described. You're hardly going to mistake a woman for a man just because of her hair.

Well if u look at pic I put up the tweeter declared she had rude comments on that pic callin* her a man

Oh, it's dreadfully put. She said "many people" without being clear if everyone was yelling or just the insane woman. Since it didn't happen, who cares!

wincarwoo · 13/10/2024 15:51

Androgynous yes, but body definitely female.

TRA is used as a catch all on here to describe anyone who doesn't always hundred per cent subscribe to the gender critical viewpoint though.
Whether you're trans, not trans , everybody gets called a "TRA."
So anyone who isn't "GC" must automatically be lying as they can't be trusted and don't use facts.
Ok
🙄

Okay well that's shitty of people. But presumably if they're calling her a man to hurt her feelings they can tell she's a woman?

Either way, I can't get worked up about this. What's the alternative? That men don't get challenged, because we might make a mistake? I think I'd just say, oh I'm a woman, if it happened to me. If nothing else, the voice will give it away.

YesterdaysFuture · 13/10/2024 15:53

This is confusing, so to stop women being misidentified as men in women's toilets the solution is to let all men enter women's toilets?!?

Hoardasurass · 13/10/2024 15:57

TofuTart · 13/10/2024 15:34

Gender critical people don’t give a toss about how women dress. That’s the point
’Until they're getting scrutinised for not presenting "womanly enough' that is.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

oakleaffy · 13/10/2024 16:00

Corinthiana · 13/10/2024 15:06

I find it highly improbable that a woman without hair has been mistaken for a man. We've all seen women with alopecia and those undergoing cancer treatment. They still present - very obviously - as women.
Whatever happened was clearly to do with something else entirely.

Edited

This.
XX have smaller jaws and finer bodies and In no way could be mistaken for XY.

wincarwoo · 13/10/2024 16:00

@tofutart if you believe men can just say they're women and everyone has to believe them or else then sorry if we're a bit circumspect.

TofuTart · 13/10/2024 16:00

Hoardasurass · 13/10/2024 15:57

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yeah, hilarious. Being mistaken for a man can be upsetting.
Glad you find it so funny
Collateral damage, are they? Or just making it up, that seems to be the theme on this thread.

It's always such a killer argument isn't it.

It's happened to me though. And I'm most definitely a biological female.

Androgynous yes, but body definitely female.

I used to be mistaken as a boy til 15 as tall and slim
but when they saw me face they knew I was a girl and apologised.
