Do these idiots really think they are clever.

🚨Breaking🚨

Trans activists have just disrupted the annual Conference being held by LGB Alliance by releasing insects in the main hall.

These nasty individuals who seek to disrupt a peaceful conference of lesbian and gay people show themselves up to be the real bigots.

It shows a lack of respect for the dignity of life, animal and human.
Not familiar with the life cycle of crickets, but going from a lab to getting hoovered by conference support is somewhat sad.

I agree. It also shows that those that did this have a complete lack of respect and in fact contempt for the people who have to clean up the mess they have made. Arrogance, entitlement and disdain for those they consider beneath them in glorious technicolour.

Twitter thread on 'Trans kids deserve better'. They also camped out at the DfE and occupied a ledge at an NHS building. These are obviously vulnerable young people

What does this make me think of? The representation of people and insects

Is it a criminal act yet?

I wonder why women and girls want single sex spaces

CrystalSingerFan · 12/10/2024 13:09

Oh wow! Thanks. We must be W v W. (Although there were four kids, but us older two were allowed by the courts to choose which parent to live with.) Plus it's not clear to me whether the 'Anon' lesbian mother actually won custody...

I wonder what the rules of naming the parents involved are once both of them are dead? (I'll also look up the two references when I get a chance.)

For me it harks back to the Rwanda where the Tutsis were relentlessly referred to as cockroaches in order to dehumanise them for the appalling genocide that followed.

What those young people have done is not a jolly jape, it is a hate crime, it is an attempt to dehumanise the people at the conference.

And what where the attendees at the conference doing that was so heinous? Talking about matters that were of interest to them and impacted them, that's it, they were not planning some kind of world takeover aka a James Bond villain.

Absolutely this. It’s to dehumanise

Any crickets that escape will breed quickly. That could be a problem for native breeds I would have thought. (Looks out of window towards nearby tree full of dozens of screeching parakeets).

FrippEnos · 12/10/2024 13:24

Anybody else find it highly hypocritical that a group (the TRAs) often compare their 'plight' to section 28 then pull stuff like this ?

Helleofabore · 12/10/2024 13:26

RufustheFactualReindeer · 12/10/2024 11:52

Its an outright lie

even if you use the court case 7% quote it relates to lesbians….not gay or bi sexual people

I know.

Ple couldn't even get the facts straight.

Edited

Facts have never been a strong point for TRAs.

There is a similarity to lesbian protesting back then.

The similarity ends with the fact that here the protesters are the homophobes, not the other way around.

It’s a terrible backfire on the Trans Activist cause, judging by the various news comment sections.

The Metro has been very trans friendly in the past (column by Nonbinary Owl of Fox and Owl fame) but the comments are just as critical as those on The Mail article:

DerekFaker · 12/10/2024 14:15

Maya Forstater:

"The group of children as young as 13 who spent the summer climbing up buildings, asking random adults to watch over them sleeping on the street are the same group who used a biohazard to disrupt the LGBA conference, and who appear to be under the influence of convicted torturer SJ/Alan Baker.

I have raised a PREVENT and a safeguarding concern with Met Police and Westminster City Council.. "

Interesting that despite the dire headline (anti trans) and the Metro's history of pandering to trans extremists, the comments are horrified at their actions.

Any crickets that escape will breed quickly. That could be a problem for native breeds I would have thought. (Looks out of window towards nearby tree full of dozens of screeching parakeets).

I'd have thought that would be the main problem, especially for the venue. Unless they managed to kill them all very quickly, there is a risk of being over-run by crickets.

But I think there's been a good deal of hyperbole on this thread. I don't think the trans activist young women are guilty of thinking that gays and lesbians are like insects - there is no sign that they do any thinking at all.

Neither do I see this as an act of terrible animal cruelty. Anyone who's a meat-eater is already complicit in acts of grotesque animal cruelty as it is, so getting aerated about the welfare of crickets seems overblown. (And do you feel the same way about all the celebs who eat live insects in I'm a Celebrity? It's certainly something I find disturbing, but millions of people seem to be entertained by it.)

My main concern about all this is the one put forward by Maya in the tweet mentioned earlier: that these are young women who are being groomed and manipulated by older, misogynistic and frankly disturbed men, at least one of whom has a serious criminal record for violence. Where are the adults who should be looking out for these young people? Something seems to have gone badly wrong in their parenting.

CriticalCondition · 12/10/2024 15:02

There's a photo up thread of SJ Baker outside the QE conference centre. I thought he was recalled to prison last year after his 'punch a terf' remarks. Is he out again?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2024 15:04

Yes he came back out, not as soon as he would have liked.

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/10/2024 15:11

We need on of those CSI whiteboards to connect the dots.

According to knowledgable folk on TwiX:
Sarah Jane Baker was outside, involved in filming. Baker has connections with Labour hard left (Russel-Mole, Whittome, Butler)
Baker's great mate Freda Wallace was inside and posted pictures immediately afterwards
At least one of the parents is a law lecturer at King's
https://futureoflegalgender.kcl.ac.uk (several interesting/familiar names there)
Fox Botherer has family connections with the Trans Kids Deserve Better group.

(suggest we're careful not to name/post pics of any of the Young Persons involved as pretty sure that's what got the other thread taken down)

Well done to Maya for the Prevent referral.

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/10/2024 15:18

It's made the Australian press.
No mention on BBC, of course, despite it's dedicated LGBTQ unit

Out of interest, is there any evidence that there were (as mentioned in the Spectator article) cockroaches and mealworms? Or was it just crickets?

It's interesting to see those connections between different TRAs, but it's long been my view that there is a very small group of hardcore activists who have somehow managed to wield influence beyond their numbers.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2024 15:34

Oh FFS, them! Many threads here about this "legal project" which got three quarters of a million pounds of public money and produced very little.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2024 15:35

They even cited how unreasonable we were.

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/10/2024 15:36

@RoyalCorgi I think it was just crickets, from the pictures/footage available.

Mytreeisgone · 12/10/2024 15:41

Twitter/X users have noticed that the group claiming responsibility have set up a crowd funder asking for £1,000 to help feed the crickets that they admit to already having released in the previous paragraph. 🤔
