🚨Breaking🚨

Trans activists have just disrupted the annual Conference being held by LGB Alliance by releasing insects in the main hall.

These nasty individuals who seek to disrupt a peaceful conference of lesbian and gay people show themselves up to be the real bigots.

I nearly posted this prior to the conference and didn't, but thought I will do so now.

Just a bit tongue in cheek, but what do these 2 photos say to you? Grin

Both from LGBA facebook page, to show how hard they were working to get ready for the conference.

When you compare it to LGBA People page?!

Mermaids gets the begging bowl out on Facebook.

What did they do with all those millions of lottery funding and donations etc that they had in in their P&L in the last few years?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/10/2024 18:05

Pissed it up the wall on stupid court cases that they "weren't entitled to bring"?

The guys were all in the kitchen making the teas right?

I thought the same thing myself when I saw it.

IwantToRetire · 15/10/2024 18:37

The guys were all in the kitchen making the teas right?

And doing the data entry I'm sure!

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 15/10/2024 18:53

There were blokes volunteering on the day, at least.

What is happening with the mermaids inquiry

2 years so far, into what is a relatively small charity. I can't imagine what is taking so long

Waiting for them to fold, so they dont have to deal, it seems.

They weren't entitled to bring the case, there was no judgement on the case. They neither won nor lost the case.

This judgement?

it definitely exists.

Got a bit side tracked by all these posts going on about can you be a member. Can only assume if you become a "Core Supporter" you maybe get something that confirms that?!

As a Core Supporter you will make this vital work possible
We’ll say thank you with invitations to exclusive events, privileged access to policy sessions and to our team as well as an invitation to join our Core Supporters private Facebook Group.
https://lgballiance.org.uk/core-supporter/

Yes. There is a card for “core supporters”.

Mermaids gets the begging bowl out on Facebook.

That is very interesting. Worked in the Charity sector for many years and worked with them to bail out a sister organisation who got embezzled.

The Charity commission objective is to ensure the good reputation of charities and when they get in trouble, have the power to even replace trustees, with people they appoint, and try and continue services in the interim.

to have your assets frozen is very unusual to say the very least, and the length in time if the investigation is very telling. I suspect it means they have had zero cooperation from the trustees in situ.

I don't think they've had their assets frozen. Many previous donors and grant making bodies have put a freeze on making any further donations and grants until the charity commission investigation is complete.

Bannedontherun · 15/10/2024 21:36

@spannasaurus Yes you are correct, Funding streams have been frozen which is still extreme as usually once the charity commission is involved that does not happen, as they put the charity back on track.

There is something going on we no nothing about

spannasaurus · 15/10/2024 21:47

Is it really that extreme to not give money to a charity under investigation? If I was a trustee of a grant making charity I would not be approve a grant or donation in those circumstances

Bannedontherun · 15/10/2024 22:13

@spannasaurus i agree i am referring to their contracted funding not donations.

Mermaids failed in their attempt to get the LGBA’s charity status revoked.
Therefore they lost.
Hair-splitting is pointless.
