Do these idiots really think they are clever.

🚨Breaking🚨

Trans activists have just disrupted the annual Conference being held by LGB Alliance by releasing insects in the main hall.

These nasty individuals who seek to disrupt a peaceful conference of lesbian and gay people show themselves up to be the real bigots.

I have made a complaint, pointing out that they shouldn't be regurgitating activist propaganda as fact, also that Wermaids lost their court case, alleging that the LGBA were an anti-trans hate group, which makes the broadcast defamatory.

They didn't lose their court case, it never got that far.

A tribunal has decided the Mermaids group was not legally entitled to challenge the other charity's status.

An LGB Alliance Conference flag with a transgender pride flag. Both flying in the wind.

Trans charity Mermaids loses challenge against LGB Alliance

A tribunal has decided the Mermaids group was not legally entitled to challenge the other charity's status.

As the headline states: "Trans charity Mermaids loses challenge against LGB Alliance.

They failed to win.

Another crowdfunder up on platform 'chuffed.com' with the name 'Supporting the crick-kids'

'6 of us released about 6,000 crickets into hate group LGB Alliance's annual conference. The result of the conference, if it had gone ahead as planned, would have been an acceleration of transphobic hate and misinformation, which drives much of the attack on our healthcare and our dignity.
We are so proud of ourselves for ending their spewing of violent hate, but a bug's gotta eat and we can't feed them for ever. We are so grateful to anyone who can support us in this capacity, you're enabling us to keep fighting for the healthcare, dignity, and voice of trans kids. Your support means the world to us <333'

Not sure why they are saying the conference didn't go ahead.... There really is something disconnected here.

Sinnerboy said they lost the case, this is not correct -

On Thursday the tribunal ruled Mermaids was not entitled to bring the case.

I presume it's similar to the recent Humpty Dumpty poster who dominated a recent thread repeatedly claiming the impossible?

“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.”

Are you claiming they won the case?

No, there was no judgement on the case - Mermaids was not entitled to bring a case against LGBA.

They identify as having ended the conference. None of their social media followers will actually bother to check.

Truth has no meaning.

You should complain to the BBC. The headline in their article says they lost.

Yet the article says otherwise 🤷‍♀️

Actually you can, they get unblocked if you're not actually raising funds (see my post about 4 pages back), but I do get it

Mine from yesterday is still hidden.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/10/2024 15:42

Mermaids brought a case, Mermaids wanted the LGBA's charity registration rescinded.

Mermaids was unsuccessful because the judge said that a) Mermaids had no standing to bring the case and b) a charity just for LGB people was a perfectly reasonable basis for a charity, therefore Mermaids lost.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/10/2024 15:43

No, there was no judgement on the case - Mermaids was not entitled to bring a case against LGBA.

There was a judgment on the whole sorry debacle, yes.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/10/2024 15:44

Mermaids did not get the outcome they wanted, which was to get rid of LGBA as a registered charity. Therefore they lost.

They lost the entitlement to bring the case

They lost. However you want to dress it up. They spent money to get an outcome they wanted, and they got told to go away.

They weren't entitled to bring the case, there was no judgement on the case. They neither won nor lost the case.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/10/2024 15:53

Maya Forstater's first tribunal went a similar way, she was told her belief wasn't covered by the protected characteristic therefore the case wouldn't be considered. Would you say she didn't actually lose that case?

This desperate flailing to put a positive spin on a loss puts me in mind of the Good Law Project's "technical victories" Grin

I've just reread the article. Imo the headline is an accurate summary. However, I would urge you to complain and get it changed if you think it is misleading.

Chersfrozenface · 15/10/2024 15:54

I note that the Charity Commission has never found any cause to investigate the LGB Alliance

The Commission is undertaking a statutory inquiry into Mermaids and has been doing since December 2022.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/10/2024 15:56

Not sure why they are saying the conference didn't go ahead.... There really is something disconnected here.

Because all trans rights activists do is push half truths and fake news. They know most people won't look into it properly.

What is happening with the mermaids inquiry

2 years so far, into what is a relatively small charity. I can't imagine what is taking so long
