Excellent!

Swopping hanging basements around is a grand example of mischief for Mischief Night.

Throwing eggs at things, not. Not that it would have crossed anyone’s mind anyway, but apart from the destruction eggs are expensive. (West Riding, not silly with our money)

(That’s almost a quote from “When we are Married” by JB Priestley.)

Brilliant!!

FuzzyPuffling · 29/10/2024 13:26

A thing of note today, when I use my " not done yet" eye, everything has a yellow cast to it. When I use my " newly done" eye, everything is bright blue-white.
I knew yellowing with cataracts was a thing, but would have denied I had it..
I'm now spending all day winking at things and being amazed!

(Also I'm 99% pain free today which helps!)

Bannedontherun · 29/10/2024 13:32

Hi fuzzy glad to hear how well you are doing

Chersfrozenface · 29/10/2024 13:33

That's wonderful, @FuzzyPuffling.

If you wink at any of the Bluestocking's menagerie, I wonder whether any will wink back.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 29/10/2024 13:34

I'm glad you are nearly pain free, @FuzzyPuffling - and I hadn't realised that cataracts gave everything a yellow tint!

I've got to go and have my first diabetic eye test in a couple of weeks, and my sister in law has scared me by saying they will have to dilate my pupils and I'll get a massive headache.

Not so. DH has diabetic eye tests and I've had lots of pupil dilation drops. They sting fur a few seconds and you can't focus awfully well, but never any headaches. And DH is very headache prone.

FuzzyPuffling · 29/10/2024 13:38

Sparticus, a quokka and three gerbils winked back. Colin rolled his eyes in disgust.

Great to have an update, Fuzzy.
One of the consequences of having my cataract ops was the realisation that all the white paintwork did NOT in fact have to be repainted, it was the yellow tint of the cataracts at fault! So not only will Nature look brighter, so will your décorSmile

Woley, ignore what your SIL said about the eye tests, maybe she reacted that way and got a bad headache but
[a] painkillers
[b] everybody reacts differently
[c] some people are doom-mongers - not your dear SIL I'm sure, but..

I once had the Fear of God put in me in advance of a medical procedure on my nose [inside, not a nose job!] I was braced for medieval-torture-style pain, having been warned by a relative who was a nurse and who should have known better😡 but in fact they simply used an anaesthetic spray and I felt absolutely nothing!

'Words' were exchanged with Nurse Doom-monger afterwards, needless to say..

Fingers crossed you'll be grandSmile

FuzzyPuffling · 29/10/2024 13:53

YES! @MarieDeGournay I also don't have to repaint my woodwork! 😀

FuzzyPuffling · 29/10/2024 13:54

Anyone feel like starting a new thread? ( Not me..forgotten how)

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 29/10/2024 14:08

It's when things start winking back that you need to worry!

That all sounds positive though!

Hurrah!

Boiledbeetle · 29/10/2024 14:23

Right, I'll just pick up my shopping, I've got room for about 6 gerbils in the bags and a cat can double up as a scarf!

Right I'm off to see if the seat I've laid my towel on in the new thread is still free!

I bet I still leave something behind!

Boiledbeetle · 29/10/2024 14:32

The cat is refusing to come out!

Bye bye gerbils, see you on the other side.

FuzzyPuffling · 29/10/2024 14:49

Come on Sparticus, I've got you
I've also got the Dreamies. ( aka Cat crack).

FuzzyPuffling · 29/10/2024 14:50

Colin, quokkas, goats...follow me...

Piggies!? And leave a note for Steven. Although he's not been seen for several threads. I'm just about ready to give up hope.

I'll just leave a note for the stragglers and the seagulls
