Here's another one. Most parents don't know what is embedded in the fabric of these documents. They present gender identity and trans as if these are settled and widespread cultural norms when at the same time claim they are 'disrupting the cisheteronormative narrative'. The resources here is what cascades from passing on gender activism in schools hence why I call it 'grooming'. this is how grooming works - it hides the intent and proceeds with the unwitting's trust that the person in authority is well-intentioned (and young teachers were groomed into the ideology at university) but there is a parallel motivation in the background where the true damage is being done. These resources show how the grooming happens.

Thank you for the sources. I do think, though, we need to very careful about how we use the word 'grooming'. I'm not seeing 'grooming' here. This isn't an underground agenda to abuse children.

I have been wondering about a neighbour's children. They are still quite young, but are regularly verbally and emotionally abused by their mother. My thoughts were along the lines of how could they recognise they need help? They likely don't even know they are being abused. A school program like this could be the spark that helps such children. Can you see that?

Moira Deeming has explicitly stated she would not campaign to change legislation on abortion.

Cassie's been told that a thousand times already. It doesn't seem to have landed yet.

She even said this on the meeting audio she recorded. The audio some posters believed where Moira Deeming blatantly ignored the suggestions of Pesutto, where Pesutto didn’t give any suggestions except that they should meet around 3 pm to discuss it further.

Some misrepresentations are willful at this point.

And I have not seen anything from
Moira Deeming to suggest she is ever interested in campaigning to remove LGB ‘family’ rights either. She has also told us that she has significant support from lesbians, she offered to have some visibly support Pesutto so why on earth are we seeing this constant attempt to bring in her religion. Kevin Rudd (Labour) and Tony Abbott (Liberal) were PMs known for their religious beliefs. Paul Keating and Anthony Albanese are also Catholics. There seems to be an over reliance on discrediting her due to her religious belief.

Similar over here with Kate Forbes of the SNP when she was running for leadership of the party. Her religious belief and personal anti-abortion stance was used against her.

😂
No, no she wouldn't. Single issue politicians can't gain enough support to challenge in elections, neither do politicians with views at either end of the political spectrum.

She's only useful if she's in government and that's not going to happen if her party swing further right.

Look at what happened to the Tories.

Well now Cassie you as usual get things wrong, looks like Moria’s set to return to the party

If the respectful relationships programme removes gender ideology and queer theory from its curriculum, yes, I can see that.
But what exists today in Victorian schools is abusive and grooming.
You don't get to tell me how to use grooming. It is strong language and it is supposed to be. Because what they are doing to children is abuse. It is grooming them into a harmful ideology.

Are you seriously posting that you witness abuse of your neighbour's young children & do nothing, except 'ponder' whether they'll be 'sparked' into speaking up at school, rather than report what you claim to have witnessed yourself regularly?

Either they're 'regularly verbally & emotionally abused' & you, as a regular witness of this behaviour, should report this to authorities. Or I'm calling this bullshit.

Moira Deeming could return to the Liberal Party as part of a possible leadership challenge

It would be such a perfect ending

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. I haven't "witnessed" it - I've heard it. Most days. It's difficult for me to hear as my own mother was the same.

I don't know the proper channels to approach. (Im not in Britain.) I've been on the verge of calling the police plenty of times, but I'm not sure they would do anything about purely verbal abuse. This is why school programs like this could fill such a gap. A child like me would have appreciated it.

The article you linked says Deeming may be welcomed back into the Party Room. It doesn't mean she will be challenging for the leadership - just that she may have a vote.

CassieMaddox · 07/10/2024 20:08

And then?
A paradox for me personally is the concerns about "capture" are the most strongly expressed today, whereas the threat from capture (Stonewall influence, self ID legislation etc) was greater in the past. Stonewall are a lame duck. Self ID is dead in the water. The Cass review has reduced the risk to teenagers.
Yet people like Truss are calling for the BBC to be defended and claiming the civil service is captured.

For me fact and fiction don't fully line up at the moment. What I observe in the arena of women's sex based rights is far less scary than it was. Yet the discourse has got more uncompromising and more insistent that there is some kind of emerging catastrophe.

When facts and rhetoric don't meet, that's when I start perceiving there to be a "culture war", where unfriendly actors (I.e. not people concerned about women and children) are using concerns for their own ends.

Unfortunately for me this trial looks like that. It's going to destroy the current incarnation of the Liberal party from what I can see. Who benefits from that? I doubt its going to be women and children in Australia - but it might be certain political factions and groups.

The problem is that big institutions an organisations are slow and cumbersome. Once something is embedded it can be difficult to root out. It takes time. Even though many organisations are now withdrawing from Stonewall's scheme, for example, it is still being taken up and implemented by others.

Certain fashions in clothing are still worn for a long time by many people, even after the next fashion has come along. People are creatures of routine and habit.

What's more - the people implementing such practices or routines have become habituated to them, or see them as necessary or good things to do. They are ideologically 'captured'. It can take a generation or two to turn things around. It is not so much about radical over-throw as about re-establishing certain principles and values then re-embedding them.

Moira Deeming has explicitly stated she would not campaign to change legislation on abortion. What do you mean by the Christian family set up?
Are you saying religious people have no place in politics?

No. I'm saying a overtly religious leader is unlikely to command enough of the vote in a secular country. Big difference.

Look at what happened to Tim Farron in the UK for example.

I also think that any patriarchal religion has practices that harm women so her devout Christianity might make her less attractive to feminist voters, even though she advocates for single sex spaces.

Humza Yousaf is openly Muslim. He even published a photo of Muslim prayers in Bute House.

What you are actually saying is being Christian is a problem.

I don't have to be supportive of people with a very different view of life to myself.

I would compare the reaction to Deemings views on abortion to the speculation about Starmers children's gender identity.

Pro-life apparently personal choice, should be ignored unless it's overtly part of politics. Possible (although unlikely) trans child - can't be objective, will def be "captured" even if says not, so not trustworthy and not worth voting for.

It doesn't matter to many voters what she says. Many voters on point of principle won't vote for someone pro-life. And that's entirely up to them.

Being very strongly of any patriarchal religion is a problem. To the point where the politician starts suggesting the beliefs of that religion should form part of how civil society addresses certain topics.

This sort of Religious influence would worry me very much if it were happening in the UK. Regardless of the type of religion:

You phone the police, your local social services, the children's school, anyone else you can think of and you tell them all what you've witnessed. (And hearing it is witnessing it.) Every time. You record It if you can.

It might not make any difference, but surely its better than assuming the kids will tell someone at some point.
