Jesus wept.

I really despair of the SNP. Emma roddick, do you have any soul??? To bleat about poor MW after all that was done as if they are having a hard time compared to actual rape and sexual assault survivors? Ah I'm so angry... Wtf SNP honestly 2026 cannot come soon enough to get these psychos out

Were the supporting emails received within 1/2 of publication or within 1/2 of the interview (before publication)?

'I have been made aware you are running a piece ... I encourage you to include the voice of survivors ... '

Before publication, by the sound of it.

Taken from an email sent to Jennifer (journalist) from 'Miss J'.

ArabellaScott · 17/09/2024 12:36

Yes, another one:

'After hearing that this piece was planned, I opted to email them my views (off my own back[sic]) and it's inappropriate to suggest that I was in anyway influenced to do that. I'm angry at the weaponisation of my voice. @ JKRowling this is shameful.'

Miss J on X.

spannasaurus · 17/09/2024 13:05

Thank you @ArabellaScott
So not people showing support after having read the article .

See previous comments about human shields and wondering about the motivations and drivers of people who voluntarily (?) behave in this way…

It constantly seems to be self-sacrificial women and typically in the service of the indefensible and/or men (which, in/directly, this is for both).

No explanation as to how they heard the piece was planned.

Smells like Billingsgate Fish market on a very hot day.

@spannasaurus after the interview but before publication I believe

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/09/2024 13:25

Apparently Wadhwa was invited to Spain by controversial government minister Irene Montero

A este señor nos lo trajo Irene Montero en el año 2022 para que nos enseñara buenas prácticas en los centros de crisis para mujeres víctimas de agresiones sexuales

"Irene Montero brought this man to us in 2022 so he could teach us good practice in rape crisis centres"

A good day for Scotland!

It was great to read more about JK Rowling's aid to women in funding/creating 'Beria's place'. What a strong and compassionate woman she is.

I totally agree - and apologies if this comes across as pedantic or has been corrected further down the thread, but the spelling here is very important. It’s Beira’s place.

Beria, on the other hand, was a Soviet politician and head of the secret police in the Stalinist era who used his position to rape many young women and girls, some of whom were murdered.

"Irene Montero brought this man to us in 2022 so he could teach us good practice in rape crisis centres"

What? As in "Everything he says and does, do the opposite"?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/09/2024 14:16

From what I've seen, she and her supporters are on a par with SNP support for "trans rights" so I'm sure she thought it was excellent.

Quite.

Or so that women's rape crisis services could be entirely reframed to serve the wishes and agendas of men interested in gender ideology and their followers. If that was the aim, they were very successful.

Interesting article in the Edinburgh evening news, especially in terms of reference to MW's status

I like that article, it's very direct.

Snowypeaks · 18/09/2024 07:50

ArabellaScott · 17/09/2024 22:25

Is that likely to happen, would you say?

ArabellaScott · 18/09/2024 11:58

I dunno. Seems unlikely?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/09/2024 12:02

Who has the power to get rid of her/force her to resign?

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 18/09/2024 12:08

Not a chance will Sandy Brindley go voluntarily.

CocoapuffPuff · 18/09/2024 12:27

I don't believe she'll walk voluntarily. She believes she was right. These holy-rollers of the gender movement cling on, like ticks. They need to be unscrewed (clockwise or anti-clockwise, both work) at the head.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/09/2024 12:02

Trustees, I guess.

StickItInTheFamilyAlbum · 18/09/2024 12:51

ArabellaScott · 18/09/2024 12:29

Trustees, I guess.

The Trustees and Non-Executive Directors.

People are routinely asked to step aside (if they've not already done this voluntarily) for the potential risk to reputational harm. It's extraordinarily that this has been allowed to continue for so long. I'd expect her to have given this up voluntarily ahead of the report publication but I keep forgetting that Nolan isn't for senior people and those that exist in the culture of immunity and impunity.

ArabellaScott · 18/09/2024 13:14

ERCC's trustees were all very young and seemed quite inexperienced at the Tribunal iirc. I wonder how RCS's board looks.
