Outrage over 'LGBT' books being banned by schools?

Has anyone seen this story in The Independent? I can't access the story because it's behind a paywall.

I'd like to know if these are books showing gay people living normal lives, which I'd have thought were quite widely read these days. Or if they're nonsense about people being 'born in the wrong body'. Once again it's obscured by the forced teaming of LGB, which are normal human sexualities, with transgenderism, which is totally different.

I was thinking about this. In the context of a school library, surely everyone is ok with some level of censorship/ selection? At least for pre teens? Or would you be happy with your 10 year old bringing home a book about how great it is to be a Nazi?

The argument is over what exactly is appropriate for children to have free access to. Not what is allowed to be published and sold, that's censorship. And the "free access" part is important too - my kids are young but I can easily imagine when they're older there are books I'd be happy for them to read but I'd want to be aware that they're reading them so I can discuss certain aspects with them.
