Tbf at this stage of the game I'd say more hopelessly naive.
Quite apart from the veracity of the individual, about the motivations of small countries who dont have big sporting resources and are desperate for gold at any cost, nor the extent of the corruption in the IOC.
And then there is the ongoing pattern and dynamic that we all really should be aufait with by now.
Does it not strike you odd that there are TWO vanishingly rare Dsds in the one event, or odd that the IOC has controlled all media as to how to discuss it?
Or odd that they prevent you knowing how many actual men in womens Olympics events?
Or odd that there was not 1, not 2 but 3 men Bronze, Silver Gold on the podium for a womens running event at Rio 2016?
At what point do women put aside their self defeating 'be kind to the poor bloke' tendencies?
"Kind' - would be an Open category and a Womens.
Cruel is as it is now.
He is entirely deliberate. He said he didnt care, you saw the fans, nor did they.
He swore Gold at any cost
Meanwhile according to other posters they are laughing at us in Algiers for being so gullible.
Our reverse racism has bitten us back, 'poor little foriegners, they dont understand our corrupt ways. They are innocent of contrivance like Rousseaus noble savage.'
Rant over ;)
