I would be surprised if any new organisation allows people to compete based on passport sex rather than biological sex given how much this would be at odds with swimming, rugby etc, and because of the higher risks in boxing than in other sports. I also think people will kick up a huge fuss now, whereas they might have been able to slip in under the radar before. I guess the danger is if they make some allowances rather than having a very clear policy, which then gets exploited.

Shit. If your chromosomes change in the hills due to the environment, can someone explain wtf happens to you if you go to Runcorn please?

(Sorry Runcorn but we need to establish some 'facts' here)

Should pronouns be related to height above sea level?
It makes as much sense as the rest of genderwang.

On a more serious note, I agree that the Barr body check should become common practice for sports regulatory bodies to protect women's sport.

I've seen the dedication it takes to excel at sport, the value it has for self discipline and teamwork, the opportunities it brings for advancement. All of these things are being taken away from biological women.

In so many ways...

Catsmere · 13/08/2024 10:57

I live on a hill, safe from rising sea levels but am now worried about my chromosomes. I demand research is done to discover when this scientific miracle occurs. Is it related to height, atmospheric pressure, oxygen levels, UV exposure or yodelling? I think we should be told.

It's got to be the yodelling. I think all Olympic athletes should have to pass yodelling tests.

ChaChaChooey · 13/08/2024 11:04

Pleased to see Derek of More Plates More Dates has posted a video on the Olympic Boxing shitshow.

Derek has 2 million YouTube subscribers and generally posts about men’s self improvement through fitness, including warts and all content about steroid doping for muscle gain.

I’m deffo not his target audience and CBA to watch the whole video so skipped to his conclusion at 52 mins in. He clearly states that all aspects of biological sex are relevant and that it’s unbelievable that the IOC seemingly had no safeguards to prevent women being punched in the face by men. And ‘there should be higher scrutiny on this than a fucking passport’.

(he referred to DSD athletes as ‘under virilised men’ which made a pleasant change from ‘high testosterone women’!)

I might listen to the whole thing when I have more time.

Bit worrying for Julie Andrews

Well look at how boyish her hair was up in the hills - maybe there's some truth. Lmao 😂😂😂

@NoBinturongsHereMate

Medical testimony from Imane's own coaching team. Specifically, the doctor responsible.for hormone adjustments.- who confirmed both the chromosome and hormone 'abnormalities'.

This can mean a range of things.it doesn't automatically mean 'male'.

duc748 · 13/08/2024 11:32

biddyboo · 13/08/2024 10:07

That to me reads like they mean sex, but, confusingly, use the word gender as a synonym for sex.

Yes, surely this. It's not wise to use gender as a synonym for sex these days, but it does sometimes happen.

What other ‘chromosome abnormalities’ could it be then?

If no Y was present the IBA wouldn’t have made the disqualification.

ArabellaScott · 13/08/2024 11:33

I admire your dogged persistence, Messina. Despite the plethora of evidence that is stacked against the likelihood that Khelif is a woman, you are here determinedly questioning every statement from every coach, medic, competitor, sports biologist and commentator.

I mean that, btw. It may be tedious rebutting all of the assertions but it makes the arguments stronger when every piece of evidence has to be painstakingly and repeatedly explained in great detail.

duc748 · 13/08/2024 11:36

Nearly as admirable as Khelif and Lin's glorious victories!

Grin v funny, Snowy!

You were looking at the right website, ArabellaScott, 'World Boxing' is the new amateur boxing body which might replace the very dodgy, definitely pro-Russian IBA - that's all true, BTW, it's not IOC bad/IBA good, it's IOC bad in their ways/IBA bad in their ways.

Maybe the Lin/Khelifh cases will inspire World Boxing to tighten up their definition of gender? Maybe...

Yes, there are lots of chromosome abnormalities.

But they could just be clear and stop obfuscating.

Fair.

Could mean goldfish. They have chromosomal and hormonal differences from women.

More likely to mean ‘male’ though.

Do you actually have to go to the mountains or can you just watch the sound of music?

Mountaineering in a silky dressing gown is inadvisable.

Ah think I may be able assist here having lived in Runcorn for the last 20 years and the previous 33 over the water in Widnes!

I still seem to be a pesky female (despite having PCOS….) as my breast cancer treatment has definitely been tailored towards that sex ( hello chemically induced menopause)

But then I was born in Widnes in the 70s so who knows what affect the environment those days would have had!

Chemically induced menopause?

So you are now a man then? Just trying to get my head around where is safe to go.

Zeugma · 13/08/2024 12:15

I just went to a wedding in Runcorn once, but the church was on a hill. Worried now. 😳

I've spent a few breaks in Snowdonia and I live on a hill. How manly am I?

Maybe I should get a bungalow in Cambridgeshire....but rising sea levels.....what a dilemma.
