Been watching German post-match commentary. Total disgrace. Theyre so brainwashed I'm waiting for their heads to melt down into a puddle. And unfortunately a lot of it was dominated by that car-crash of a press conference the IBA staged earlier today. (No mention of the threats from the Algerian and Taiwanese associations re disclosure of personal medical information- just Gazprom blah blah corruption blah blah.)

PeppercornMill · 06/08/2024 22:37

Hope that Khelif wins gold. Because then it's going to become an even bigger scandal and a big story when Khelif is striped of the medal for being ineligible when the IOC comes to its senses.

Khelif won’t be stripped, technically any medal will be won in good faith and completely in line with the current IOC regulations. I’m not confident the gold will change many views

I'm sure this will change over time, as it did in athletics, it has to, but as with Semenya these two will be allowed to keep their medals since they've complied with the [total absence of] rules as they were at the time they competed.

It will be fudged. The IOC will simply declare that Khalif is female, as per the passport. They will have a huge swell of support from all the LGBTQ++ factions that have basically suppressed any debate around this topic over the years.

It may even become common knowledge that Khalif is XY, but after some of the comments I have read recently on twitter and my own Facebook post, even that will be misconstrued as a woman with a DSD, rather than a man with a DSD, and EVEN THEN I would predict that many will be swayed by emotional stories of oppression of the LGBT community and gender non conforming women in Algeria and the wider world.

Until it is very plainly made clear that Khalif is a man, that will be the direction the commentary goes over the next few months, I predict.

Watching the matches this evening, I was really struck by the quality of the last two compared to Khalif's match. The boxing was obviously another level of skill and talent. Khalif can just barge through that with superior strength and size and noone seems to notice the huge difference.

I can guarantee that noone else I know will have watched all three matches. If they had, they might have noticed it too.

the Chinese fighter looked to me vastly faster and fitter, might just be able to sneak a win. on skill and fitness levels Khalif doesn't look Olympic class at all to me, never mind a finalist. but, well, you know the rest...

Vespanest · 06/08/2024 23:15

I think there has been more than the IBA threatened with legal action. Its glossed over as quickly as possible in the media and television commentary and results in skilled and knowledgeable boxing pundits talking what they know is shite. Tonight the commentator went from not shutting up about reach to placing the advantage of reach onto the opponent not being brave enough. It was as if Mohammad Ali had been reincarnated into Imane’s body. The same on talk sport yesterday where the guest was explaining how the higher testosterone was causing some cells to appear to have XY

The same on talk sport yesterday where the guest was explaining how the higher testosterone was causing some cells to appear to have XY

What? Who was the guest?

UtopiaPlanitia · 06/08/2024 23:25

I think that's one of the most annoying things about this genderist ideology: people end up talking absolute nonsense in the service of it. It seems to remove all traces of good sense and shame; it leaves them feeling puffed up with virtue instead.

NoBinturongsHereMate · 06/08/2024 23:26

the guest was explaining how the higher testosterone was causing some cells to appear to have XY

Where the hell.do they dig up these idiots?

As for it all being revealed in future, look how many people still insist Semenya is a woman - despite the topless swimming trunks photo in the autobiography and interview admitting testicles [sic] pumping out testosterone.

duc748 · 06/08/2024 23:40

Is testicles wrong, then? Every day's a school day on MN.

NoBinturongsHereMate · 06/08/2024 23:41

Testicles are on the outside.

duc748 · 06/08/2024 23:42

Ah. So that's the definition? I didn't realise.

NoBinturongsHereMate · 06/08/2024 23:45

They're used pretty much interchangeably, but the testes are the actual gonads and testicles includes the testes plus 'wrapping'.

What I was seeing from the start was that Khalef is XY but a woman because of reasons. Then for good measure the tests were questionable, etc.

duc748 · 06/08/2024 23:57

You see, if I'm not 100% on men's bits, what chance... 😃

I stumbled across this article, it suggests spending too much time thinking about trans people or genitalia may not be healthy.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/08/2024 00:11

I don't think I'll bother, it looks like the usual sort of whiny, emotive nonsense that ignores women's rights and doesn't deal with the issue that trans activists tend to produce.

Well, in boxing not discussing whether an athlete in the female category has testes or not and whether those testes produce testosterone that gets used, is fucking unhealthy for female people being punched in the face.

But hey, just dismiss what amounts to violence against women why don’t you? Oh that’s right, it is a pattern of yours….

BeyondOlympicLevelProcrastinator · 07/08/2024 00:35

Lucky for me I have spent 0% of my time pondering the intricacies of any athletes genitalia, and all of my time considering the implications of male chromosomes, male testosterone levels, and male pubertal development on an athletes ability to beat women up 🤷🏼‍♀️

As I said earlier, I'm happy for all sources to be shared, including TRA propaganda so people can point and laugh

I bet the Independent doesn't outdo the USA Today article I posted yesterday. But it's good to see JK Rowling is living rent free in their heads.

Here's another, there are many articles like this. Now the initial confusion has worn off (most) people are now starting to see sense.

Weird that 'she' accepted the results from 2 independent labs that confirmed that 'she' is male then, isn't it?

🙃

I've just seen someone say on Fb that the excess testosterone causes the XY chromosomes, and swyer syndrome causes excess testosterone. I give up. I am so done with social media on this
