TWO “Female Boxers” Set To Compete At Paris 2024 Were Previously Disqualified From Women’s World Championship For Having “XY Chromosomes”

Surely this cannot be true. In boxing of all sports. I thought boxing had told men they needed to compete with other men?

”Two athletes competing at the Paris Olympics as “women” were previously disqualified from a women’s world championship for having “XY chromosomes.” Imane Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yu-Ting of Taiwan are scheduled to compete in Olympic women’s boxing next week despite past questions surrounding their biological sex.”

Apologies if this question has already been answered - but - are all athletes in this competition not going to be routinely drug tested? Would this not show up increased testosterone?
Or do they just test the winners? Or nobody? I thought the Olympics were generally pretty keen on drug testing.

I'd like to know the answer to that too. Because a testosterone test would show an elevated level that no woman could achieve.

Therefore it would indicate doping.

And if it doesn't...?

Datun · 02/08/2024 10:39

I mean, it's a testament to how everyone knows exactly what's going on. Because a woman who looked that masculine, and fought like that would absolutely be tested for doping, surely??

Excerpt:

Q: A decision has to be taken - would you favour inclusion or safety of athletes?
A: It's not up to me. The IOC is trying to do a balance between inclusion, fairness and safety. That's separate to whats going on here which is a woman boxer being stigmatised. Safety is our
Number One Concern.

Q: Lisa Nandy said she felt uneasy watching the fight. Did you feel uneasy and worry about Carini's safety?
A: My feelings don't come into it. It was over far too quickly,
Q: Are female boxers tested for testosterone levels before they arrive
A: No

woofyoof · 02/08/2024 10:55

sorry here

ResisterOfTwaddleRex · 02/08/2024 10:55

Mark Adams has brushed it off and said a woman athlete is being stigmatised

This really stands out. Someone should follow the money cos there's no logic to be found here. Why dig in so hard? What else is going on?

qwerty14 · 02/08/2024 11:00

Thinking of Sitora Turdibekova who is boxing Lin Yu-Ting today.
At 14:30 GMT she will be expected to box against a man.
I can't believe that they are letting it go ahead.

I'm seeing nothing on the front page of the Guardian on this. Shame on them.

But this on the front page of the DailyMail <3

OK, so from questions above there's this:

Q: Are female boxers tested for testosterone levels before they arrive
A: No

Why not? XX / XY questions aside, that means that any of them could be doping?

The left have totally abandoned women. Even this. Even a female getting punched in the face by a male. They don't care.

What's that got to do with this case? Where a man is in the ring with a woman?

CaveMum · 02/08/2024 11:16

Anyone know what interview Lisa Nandy has done, as referenced in the IOC press conference. I want to see exactly what she’s said.

Collidascope · 02/08/2024 11:17

This might have already been mentioned (not rtft) but Hergie Bacyadan, a trans man who competes against women quite rightly as not on testosterone, has also said that males shouldn't be fighting in the female category.
TRAs were bringing Hergie up yesterday, wondering why "transphobes" don't have an issue with her. Erm, because she's competing in the correct category...?

Skyellaskerry · 02/08/2024 11:19

Nicola Adams ❤️❤️❤️

lcakethereforeIam · 02/08/2024 11:25

Love to see the IOC copyright strike the orange grifter.

Portakalkedi · 02/08/2024 11:26

I wonder what percentage of these men who insist they are female when it comes to sport, actually live and present as men outside the sport? Most of them i would guess. Funny that.

PronounssheRa · 02/08/2024 11:26

All this nonsense about a passport. Does Mark realise how easy it is to get the sex marker changed on a passport?

In the UK you just need a letter from a doctor, job done. I'm sure there will be plenty of private providers willing to do that for a few quid.

NoBinturongsHereMate · 02/08/2024 11:29

woofyoof · 02/08/2024 11:13

What's that got to do with this case? Where a man is in the ring with a woman?

Because if they aren't going sex test, it would at least provide some line of defence for women if boxers with 'higher than female' testosterone were excluded - whatever the reason for the testosterone level.

NotBadConsidering · 02/08/2024 11:30

Just a reminder that the second man is getting his chance to beat up a woman in about 3 hours or so. I won’t be able to watch this one.

Boiledbeetle · 02/08/2024 11:31

I haven't got a passport at the moment

😱

Excuse me whilst I go have an existential crisis.

I'm neither man nor woman!

nietzscheanvibe · 02/08/2024 11:35

I WILL KEEP MEN OUT OF WOMENS SPORTS!

So he can be sure it's a pussy he's grabbing? 😡
