Surely this cannot be true. In boxing of all sports. I thought boxing had told men they needed to compete with other men?

Does the IOC follow each governing bodies rules for every other sport? How has this been allowed to happen. It's a right mess and it's not fair on either athlete.

I admire Carini so much. She was brave to step into that ring, I expect she knew she couldn't win. But what she did do was shine the biggest spotlight on this issue.

The IOC are forcing deletions for anyone reposting video of the 'fight'. Do they do that when people repost any other footage from the Olympics?

Men whether trans identifying as 'female' or with under development of testes at birth are still men.

The definition is XX woman and XY or XXY or any Y is male.

My understanding is that because the IOC have suspended the IBA as a recognised governing body they get to make up their own rules.

I think that the level of engagement and abuse on social media just indicates the massive panic of TRAs/MRAs who know now that this is a defining moment as more and more people are ditching the Kool-Aid.

People realise more and more biological sex matters. The social contagion of the children is sad and untold damage and confusion on the way. So many kids thinking they are in 'the wrong body' 🤔

Crikey, I did not know that women were not allowed to box professionally until 1998.

No wonder women like Nicola Adams are speaking up. Women have the sport for 25 years, and then men try to take it off them.

The IBA/IOC situation has been dealt with previously on this and other threads -

briefly, the IBA was found to be corrupt - financial dodginess, match fixing etc - by an independent review and was stripped of its credentials, or whatever the term is, by the IOC, so it is the IOC's own waffly eligibility rules - 'if it says female on your passport, you're female enough to fight females' - that governs boxing at the Paris Olympics.
The current IBA is a new reformed version, but still isn't 100% trusted, so any statements they make are open to question by supporters of Khelif and Lin.

I'm not saying that I think the current IBA is still dodgy, I'm just saying that a lot of people on SM are seizing on the IBA's past corruption to dismiss the validity tests that previously ruled Khelif and Lin out of women's boxing.
So saying 'The IBA ruled they were biological males' is easily waved away - unfortunately and unfairly, but that's how it is on SM.

The interviewer said he's just interviewed Lisa Nandy who said she felt uneasy watching.

Mark Adams has brushed it off and said a woman athlete is being stigmatised.
