I think this is the counterpart to the TRA parents who are locked into supporting gender stuff. The parents who have seen through it and are committed to fighting back. Either you go the gender crit route or you back the right.

Musk is now funding Trump's election campaign to 45 million a month.

Interestingly Musk weirdly told JKR off for being too obsessed with women's rights recently.

The interesting thing will be that even though Musk is clearly against gender stuff he like other men with that position he will not really be targeted to the same extent a woman will be. Hardly any TRA will leave X or refuse to admire Musk's various projects. They won't abandon Marvel which put Musk in a movie Iron Man 2 in the same way they want to cancel Harry Potter. Because men get to do what they want.

This is another reason the gender project is increasingly unravelling. They want to stop women saying things, but at the same time they are not as concerned when powerful male dominated groups like Catholicism, Islam or powerful male individuals like Musk or Eminem say similar things.

I think shame is a powerful motivation in terms of not admitting you've fucked up this bad.

One thing I don't think Musk has is this sense of shame.

He's shamelessly self centered after all.

But this does put his into this weird position where he doesn't care about how it affects how others perceive him. That's possibly related to being autistic tbh.

He's not trying to mask to fit in. He doesn't need to. He's not trying to impress anyone. Again he doesn't need to nor does he want to.

It does almost give him a freedom to just come out and admit he was wrong. Largely because it's relatively free of consequences for him.

Even to the point that he can trash his relationship with his son, cos he's got plenty more in reserve to live up to his expectations.

I have to say I get the sense that he almost has zillions of kids to ensure he gets the heir he desires and by having so many kids competing for his approval he pit them against each other in a way to bring out something of a ruthless streak. It's almost like breeding many horses until you get your champion. The rest can become glue for all you care. Plus he gets the benefit of the God complex by passing on his DNA to hundreds of descendants. (I note that if he's seeking to have a Genghis Khan type genetic legacy, that perhaps he didn't necessarily have even a few years ago, then having one of your children screw up that plan by sterilising themselves would cut particularly deep as an emotional wound).

So many are cheering him along and encouraging his sexist and misogynistic attitude just because they don't like his father.

That was a pretty ignorant tweet by Musk tbf, all that a boy liking musicals at 4 means is that he likes musicals - they only thing that makes somebody gay is wanting a sexual relationship with someone of the same sex, presumably that wasn't evident at 4. Bet he thinks all ballet dancers are gay, too. It's comments like that that I refer to when I say I wish he would get off twitter; I love what his companies achieve but I do think he can be a complete cock. And if the kid's been nagging him to dress 'fabulous' for this long, no wonder he feels ignored!

Nonetheless, this sounds like a very angry boy who's trying to attack his daddy cos he didn't get enough attention - and having shared custody with a father who worked long hours (as well as 4 brothers all vying for that attention) maybe he didn't. But as all his brothers seem happy to maintain their relationships with their father even as their sibling publicly denounces him, it does look a lot like a tantrum. And it's women (of course) who now have to suffer having this male invade their spaces.

That was great. I'm GC, but in favor of an asshole like Musk getting savaged for his lies.

Respect is earned. If Musk is publically lying about his own child for self-serving reasons and was never there for the child, he has not earned respect.

I was referring to the boy's determination to change gender, ostracise his father and then publicly denounce him. His behaviour seems to stem from anger and resentment at his father not giving him enough attention rather than a real belief he is actually a girl. I don't blame him for responding to what was (I believe) a pretty ignorant tweet, whether true or otherwise. I am on the fence about whether Musk should've brought it up in the interview; on the one hand, airing his dirty laundry like this is hardly going to help matters. On the other, he did appear to go to extreme lengths to repair the relationship back when it fractured and he clearly failed so he may have now come to terms with the fact he has truly lost his son and genuinely wanted to publicise what the reality is like for parents of those 'encouraged' to transition. I do know a lot of people going through this are very grateful for his voice.

6 of them are under 5, 3 of whom who have appeared in public with him, 2 of whom (the boys) seem to have a very affectionate relationship with him. They certainly didn't seem to be treating him like some absent father. The eldest is now at university but is regularly seen with his dad at both business and recreational events. The next 3 have just graduated high school and he attended their graduation. He is seen with them all occasionally. It is rumoured Amber Heard stole his sperm in order to have his baby via surrogate, though I don't believe that's ever been confirmed.
