KJK Live streams being sacked from her GPs surgery - trans staff member

Forward to 19.15 for the actual phone call.

KJK confrontation with trans staff member at her GPs surgery.

This ideology has no place in the NHS.
As someone whose Mother, aged 72, had a stroke and waited in an NHS corridor on a trolley for 16 hours only to be asked as the doctors FIRST question....... "how do you identify?", I feel the NHS is captured beyond hope,

I've had to leave my GP surgery due to an activist working there. #LWS #LetWomenSpeak #LWSLocals

An explainer on DBS checks for surgery staff.

https://www.cqc.org.uk/guidance-providers/gps/gp-mythbusters/gp-mythbuster-2-who-should-have-disclosure-barring-service-dbs-check

Even if you think KJK's actions are morally acceptable (they aren't) can her defenders really not see how politically unwise they are? The majority of people have little or no opinion or emotion about pronoun badges. To them this fuss about a badge would look insane.

Many people will now have a trans colleague in their workplaces and they'll be good/bad in the same proportion as non-trans employees. So when they see this sort of stuff they'll be thinking "that could be John or Bridget getting attacked for nothing other than being trans". How do you explain the problem with Mridul Wadhwa's appointment if you've convinced Joe Public that really you just hate trans people having jobs?

What we've got on this thread is similar to what we had in all those tedious pre-election threads about how Labour were going to lose. Just a complete refusal to accept your own bubble doesn't reflect reality.

this is the thing. the issues surrounding issues aren’t solved by one woman abusing a member of staff at her GP surgery. that member of staff was just going about their day. many GV state they want don’t hate trans people and want them to be able to live their life but just not in women’s spaces… which is fair.

if they truly believe what they’re saying, what KJK did was disgusting and was abusive. you can’t have it both ways, you can’t paint your movement to be not anti trans then have your actions be extremely anti trans.

this wasn’t a trans person in the wrong space, it was just a trans person existing. much like if the receptionist had been a GC woman just existing.

Tell me you haven't read the whole thread without telling me you haven't read the whole thread.

She has been widely criticised. Unless you are calling for her to be burned at the stake then you will be scolded.

She has been criticised now
This time last year any suggestion of anything other than perfection was instantly jumped on.
And yes, I have read the whole thread.
KJK has done a lot of good and shown a lot of bravery but in more recent months she has had some "interesting" allies and the tide seems to be turning against her. I hope that the good parts don't get forgotten now though as everyone jumps on the bandwaggon of criticism

I just laughed out loud. Thanks!

care to share the funny joke with the class? i’m sure we are all looking forward to it!

Were you not chastising another poster for not being ‘adult’ enough for you?

CassieMaddox · 21/07/2024 18:32

That will be a "no" then

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 21/07/2024 18:22

Well so would most people I'd imagine. Not a fan of the colour purple myself but then most people aren't a public hate figure for trans people and a check out server doesn't have access to your personal medical records 🤷‍♀️.

The trans pins and badges would have caused a few posters to faint though 😁
Again, you can't just automatically assume they're a criminal/up to no good based on nothing but the fact they're trans.
Very definition of discrimination/bigotry right there.

And yet someone wrote upthread (about an adult human female shirt)

"Anyone wearing that T-shirt I would perceive as being in the cult of personality and think they were at least a bit of a knob, and at most shared a lot of the kinds of wider views she promotes on twitter around Trump/Islam/moms for liberty/reform etc. "

So it works both ways at least.

Fair enough.

Pretty much my stance too.

I roll my eyes at pronoun badges & signatures, I view trans badges in the same way as they would view my dinosaur brooch.

I think a tra would kick up a fuss at an 'adult human female'badge on a Dr receptionist, hopefully they wouldn't go too librarian but some of them are a bit excitable.

I'm a biological realist and I hope the teenagers I know who think this is a solution to their angst grow out of it before permanent harm is done.

I don't want biological men in spaces or sports I expect to be exclusively female. Whenever I've come across a man in womens' clothing their biological sex has been patently clear. I used to think drag was harmless if derogatory, now my view has hardened and I see it as womanface. Men do not make better women than biological women.

Nobody's said they do, though. You're making stuff up.
This is a thread about objecting to someone who is trans just being at work, getting on with existing in public and not bothering anyone.

i think the vast majority of people would do an eye roll either way - because usually if you’re at the GP it’s for a reason and pins aren’t the biggest problem at that time really.

not only that but in this particular instance wasn’t the receptionist FTM? as KJK had an issue with their big breasts…

InpraiseofWomenhelpingWomen · 21/07/2024 18:54

Interesting @HPFA that Non clinical staff in GP clinics aren’t required to undergo DBS checks. Thank you for posting the link. That is unsettling. However, I often think that people are more trusting of DBS checks than they should be.

no only TRA do that of course!!!

And yet neither of you can produce a counter point to it.

Binding breasts is not a healthy (or comfortable) practice.

i very much doubt it’s comfortable. i find bras bad enough let alone a binder.

no the opposite - that the behaviour people here state only TRAs show is actually seen in GC as well.

Not making stuff up. The fragrant India Willoughby claimed to be more of a woman than jkr. It is a claim I've heard elsewhere too.

Monroe Bergdorf was appointed UK womens' UN champion rather than a biological woman.

there is also no such thing as a ‘better’ woman or ‘more’ of a woman.

Indeed. We are women whether we are performing femininity to someone else's standard or not.
