It's a headline in the Telegraph. Unfortunately when I archive it it goes to an article about that twat Ashworth refusing to answer. So, I've screenshot the headline

Menopause?

Yes, that:s the usual meaning of "going through the change".

I just wondered whether @Sunshineandchill meant something else, so I thought I'd ask

"..been through the change.."

What change, exactly?

Going through the change is the old-fashioned way to refer to the menopause.

ArabellaScott · 02/07/2024 09:55

Iain Anderson appears utterly unconcerned by Keir's latest assertion. He's tweeted this morning that Starmer is 'spot on'.

I was not being sarcastic. I cannot see a problem with allowing people who have been through the change to have access to women’s toilets. Being sarcastic and this whole attitude lately of fighting all the time is not helpful to anyone.

Hi.

Not sure if you are aware but not one human being has ever changed sex.

It's just plastic surgery.

Oh yes ok I own up, I meant that in a really offensive way of course. I sit here night after night just thinking about how much I hate transgender people 🤣🙄that’s sarcasm by the way

Re the tabloid and broadsheet terminology. Until about 30 years ago all serious newspapers, whatever their political colour, were printed on very large pages eg The Times, The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Independent. The sensationalist ones like The Sun and The Mirror were printed in a smaller tabloid format. They were sometimes referred to as 'redtops' because their masthead was red. In the 90s some of the serious newspapers changed to the smaller tabloid format although they preferred to call it 'compact' to avoid the association with the sensationalist ones. The content and political leanings didn't change.

I read The Independent in broadsheet form every morning on the tube. Seasoned commuters on crowded trains half folded the pages vertically to avoid getting in someone else's space.

I'm old.

Hi.

Not sure if you are aware, but this is about men. Accessing women's spaces. When they already have their own.

If they are scared of other men, then maybe go and reeducate men to leave men who say they are women alone.

Have there been any peeps on TwiX from the usual suspects, IW, RMW, etc?

@Sunshineandchill i actually don’t understand what you mean - but maybe you could also comment on whether you’re happy with Dolatowski or Baker having unfettered access to women’s toilets and changing rooms?

Very interesting question. If this were real, KS would be getting a lot of attention just now!

Nothing from Willoughby. Nothing from White.

JFDIYOLO · 02/07/2024 10:01

I don't know why we don't just say 'member of the female / male sex.'

And keep saying it.

Because it says it all.

None of this 'gender' smoke and mirrors.

I've just been on the reliably unhinged LabourUK subreddit and only had a quick skim. It wasn't being discussed but coincidentally while I was writing this post this has just gone up

Personally, I think KS never wanted men in women's toilets. He just was too scared to stand up and say it and hoped the issue would just go away. this is his very small step towards realising that the issue isn't going away and he's going to have to alienate someone, sometime.

As LibDems have gone full on the other way, again, I am sticking with labour.

I was wondering whether a separate thread for this would be good? To kind of act as a truth barometer between now and Thursday? If the thread remains relatively empty of evidence, then we know Starmer's done behind the scenes deals with Stonewall and the other guys.

if a man suffers a terrible injury from a landmine and loses his genitals or part or loses some or all to cancer he is still in every cell male. No guarantee of lesser physical strength or lesser patterns of aggression and offending and I don't want men in my spaces and my boundaries don't include undressing in front of men and my common sense tells me being in a potentially enclosed quiet space like toilets is dangerous

Hahaha, I just came from there, Eresh!

ResisterOfTwaddleRex · 02/07/2024 10:04

@Sunshineandchill you might be alright with males of various states of undress and surgery changing with you.

But you don't get to provide consent on my behalf. Or on behalf of other women.

HTH

We are going to have to hope you are right about that, because we have no choice.

"Gender chaos" 🤣

ArabellaScott · 02/07/2024 10:10

We've had years of Labour telling us we're bigots for saying this, women have been expelled from Labour for saying less.

Now explain HOW you will keep men out of women's sports, prisons, changing rooms, toilets and women-only groups.

Never wanted your consent. Just voicing my opinion if that’s ok with you
