This was my reply from my local candidate.

subtletyisntlostonme · 02/07/2024 06:27

Sorry, my local Labour candidate.

Floisme · 02/07/2024 06:39

If you commit to clarifying what the Equality Act says, Keir Starmer, then I will listen. You've got 2 days.

Theunamedcat · 02/07/2024 06:41

I'm not a single issue voter but this election is really fucking hard

JanefromLondon1 · 02/07/2024 06:49

But what about those few marginalised traumatised men Keir?? You know the ones who deserve their dignity protected over ours??

It terrifies me him being in charge of anything really after watching him run away, literally run away, from the female reporter who asked him about trans woMen with penises being able to enter women's spaces.

TemuSpecialBuy · 02/07/2024 06:52

That's why i've always said biological womens spaces need to be protected

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Get away Keir....

Who would you like to see as the next PM?

Boudiccaofsteel · 02/07/2024 06:57

I suspect another meaningless lawyer answer. I am not a fan of Sunak but at least he is crystal clear and sees this as a dad of daughters so he gets the issues

hiwever the litmus test for Starmer isn't just whether he has now had a Damascene conversion that women and girls are actually human but would he only include MPs who wholeheartedly endorse women's rights to single sex spaces and care to the Cabjnef?

we might be in for not only the largest majority ever but the smallest Cabinet as I think there are only a handful of MPs that do so.

perhaps the question the press should ask is will you make Rosie Duffield the Minister for Women?

MissMaryBennett · 02/07/2024 06:58

It is great if he is saying that now.

BUT he is clearly lying about ‘always said’.

There are so many other phrases he could use instead of ‘always said’.

Or he could have actually written a clear manifesto!

So I am not convinced.

SpanielintheWorks · 02/07/2024 06:58

perhaps the question the press should ask is will you make Rosie Duffield the Minister for Women?

Or would he go for Eddie Izzard?

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 02/07/2024 06:58

He's just making it up as he goes along.

JanefromLondon1 · 02/07/2024 07:02

Doingmybest12 not someone who puts the rights of a few men above all women for a start.

Blar Blar Blar waffle waffle waffle, I've always said this - erm no Keir you haven't.

I want him, Raynor and the rest of them on TV actually answering straight questions around this issue so if he's not the leader anymore Raynor can't come in and push through what she wants as she's fully captured. No stuttering, no twaddle, just straight answers around protecting us.

And I think we are owed a reason as to why it has taken this long to put out this statement and who was pushing the TWAW agenda in the Labour Party.

The response from Stonewall et al will tell us if this is real...

my reading is that KS didn't say women's toilets but "women's spaces"

This is so important.

And they've been weirdly quiet so far.

I imagine there's been lots of secret meetings.

Stonewall and co gone suspiciously quiet. Which hasn't gone unnoticed:

"Have you noticed @keirstarmer using the term ‘protecting spaces for biological women’. That’s the kind of language that normally gets howls of derision from Stonewall and accusations of transphobia. Not a peep from the main trans rights groups. Silence.

What’s the deal here? Stonewall gives Starmer an easy ride so he can appease troublesome women voters and then it’s full steam ahead with the trans agenda once he’s in number 10?"

There is no legal adjustment to do this so what are they talking about?

It’s just words without legislative change

Pretty much. At least we know his position today, who knows what tomorrow will bring?

Pretty much. At least we know his position today, who knows what tomorrow will bring?

And the problem with that is that if his position today is that women are entitled to single sex spaces and on Friday his position is that we aren't, there's nothing we can do about that.

GCAcademic · 02/07/2024 07:33

Clearly the election stategy is to attempt to appease one group one day, and the other the next day.

Myalternate · 02/07/2024 07:34

He had his fingers crossed 🤞 when he answered that question.
I don’t trust any politician.

Just like with Brexit then.

I think the The Telegraph is more commonly considered a broadsheet rather than a tabloid.

Yes. Loud and clear. If you care about women tell us how you'll fix things.

Because currently every fucker, including your pals at Stonewall, think men DO have the right to use women's spaces.

There's a bunch of nurses would like to know how you're going to fix it so there's no men in their changing rooms.

Yes, and manifesto promises are all to simplify the GRA. Nothing about keeping men out of women's spaces.

Tabloid has a specific meaning, which The Telegraph doesn't fall into.
