Today's WH is as follows - Woman's Hour Election Debate. In a special extended 90 minute programme, Nuala McGovern hosts the Woman's Hour Election Debate. Senior women from the main political parties of Great Britain outline their priorities for women and answer your questions. Taking part are: Scottish National Party spokesperson for Consular Affairs and International Engagement Hannah Bardell; Reform UK candidate Maria Bowtell; Green Party spokesperson for Housing and Communities Ellie Chowns; Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats Daisy Cooper; Conservative Minister of State for Disabled People, Health and Work Mims Davies; Labour Party Chair and Shadow Secretary for Women and Equalities Anneliese Dodds, and Plaid Cymru’s Westminster Leader Liz Saville Roberts.

Questions via text 84844 or WhatsApp - 03700100444

I intend to send something like the following - Given that you are all designated senior women politicians, speaking as such on Woman's Hour, can we possibly decide an answer to the question - What is a woman?

Send in yours!

Then bangs on about gender dysphoria

But

Talks about equality act and single sex services

TigathaChristie · 18/06/2024 10:25

Reform woman talking sense.

TigathaChristie · 18/06/2024 10:25

Why is McGovern only challenging the Reform woman.

Giving the others a free pass.

WarriorN · 18/06/2024 10:26

Sarah Jones says that when Scotland tried to do what they did it raised the issue in Labour

Aka

Isla Bryson's pink leggings got our attention

BionicBadger · 18/06/2024 10:26

Reform is the one talking sense. My goodness.

WarriorN · 18/06/2024 10:27

Labour has Sarah Jones - shadow minister for industry and decarbonisation, so seems an unusual choice

She has spoken with confidence though.

TigathaChristie · 18/06/2024 10:27

Fucking patronising Daisy Cooper - us poor folk don't understand.

WinterTrees · 18/06/2024 10:27

Labour had obviously prepped for this question and she was v aware of the spin she wanted to put on it for WH, but when it came to changes to the GRA she floundered. There's no way of squaring 'simpler process' with proper checks and balances to protect women so she went for a waffly, euphemistic 'kind'.

That tells me all I need to know. They're going to throw women under the bus but while no one's looking, and they're not only going to deny responsibility, but they'll claim it never happened.

No wonder the otherwise loathsome Reform are hoovering up the 'mightily sick of this shit' vote.

BionicBadger · 18/06/2024 10:27

IS SHE STUPID???

Redshoeblueshoe · 18/06/2024 10:28

YES SHE IS

Redshoeblueshoe · 18/06/2024 10:29

My blood pressure can't cope with this

BionicBadger · 18/06/2024 10:29

😂

TigathaChristie · 18/06/2024 10:29

Cass - Daisy Cooper it's too complicated for plebs!!

WhatANiceNewWord · 18/06/2024 10:29

What an absolute shitshow. I'm so depressed listening to all these women.

Redshoeblueshoe · 18/06/2024 10:29

I'm out.

3peassuit · 18/06/2024 10:30

Reform is the only one making sense. God help us.

TigathaChristie · 18/06/2024 10:30

@WhatANiceNewWord - you nailed it! What an absolute car crash politics in 2024 is. God help us.

BionicBadger · 18/06/2024 10:30

Yea it’s so depressing

TigathaChristie · 18/06/2024 10:31

Toxicity blah blah blah.

PronounssheRa · 18/06/2024 10:31

Isla Bryson's pink leggings got our attention

I'm forever grateful to whoever took that photo

WhatANiceNewWord · 18/06/2024 10:33

Wait for them to start on about adults who identify as children being the real victims here.

TigathaChristie · 18/06/2024 10:33

Any one else wishing that Emma had been chairing this debate?

BionicBadger · 18/06/2024 10:33

Fair play to Woman’s Hour for tackling it as question 1 though and showing the absolute shit show we are facing. I’m with Mims.

Upsidetriangle · 18/06/2024 10:34

WhatANiceNewWord · 18/06/2024 10:29

What an absolute shitshow. I'm so depressed listening to all these women.

Me too. What utterly captured, incompetent politicians that they can’t even say they will adopt the recommendations of the Cass Review. These imbeciles are hardly going to come up with anything more evidenced or effective are they?

It might be too complicated for them to understand but others understand it fine.

WhatANiceNewWord · 18/06/2024 10:35

TigathaChristie · 18/06/2024 10:33

Yes, I don't think this presenter is quite ballsy enough but she has done well to shut them up when they go over time or don't answer the question.
