Today's WH is as follows - Woman's Hour Election Debate. In a special extended 90 minute programme, Nuala McGovern hosts the Woman's Hour Election Debate. Senior women from the main political parties of Great Britain outline their priorities for women and answer your questions. Taking part are: Scottish National Party spokesperson for Consular Affairs and International Engagement Hannah Bardell; Reform UK candidate Maria Bowtell; Green Party spokesperson for Housing and Communities Ellie Chowns; Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats Daisy Cooper; Conservative Minister of State for Disabled People, Health and Work Mims Davies; Labour Party Chair and Shadow Secretary for Women and Equalities Anneliese Dodds, and Plaid Cymru’s Westminster Leader Liz Saville Roberts.

Questions via text 84844 or WhatsApp - 03700100444

I intend to send something like the following - Given that you are all designated senior women politicians, speaking as such on Woman's Hour, can we possibly decide an answer to the question - What is a woman?

Send in yours!

I wish that parties and voters alike would get their heads around the idea that spending on services saves money overall by ensuring that the population is healthy, educated, and fit to work in a nation that has roads and other infrastructure capable of supporting industry.

How about,
Would you want your frail and unwell mum in the same hospital ward as a man?

This happened to my grandmother many years ago. She was put in a mixed sex ward. Was utterly humiliated and upset.

@EvenMyWashingMachineCommittedSuicide One area I think they have really messed up is dental care. It’s much cheaper and easier to do a twice yearly check up and treatment than having to deal with years of neglect, people pulling their own teeth, days lost due to pain etc.

Same for eye exams. Glaucoma is much more effectively treated if caught early.

@EvenMyWashingMachineCommittedSuicide I agree. Prevention is much better than cure both for the person but also for the tax payer.

I don't think Reform care about women, I don't think they'd be good for women, I just think they might be better than Labour. It's a very low bar.

Is Farage saying Andrew Tate is a voice lots of men listen to worse than Keir Starmer saying women can have penises? And they're more important than the rest of the women, apparently, from the constant twisting talk about women's rights into talk about trans rights that most Labour politicians do.

Look I don't like Andrew Tate, but I do like honesty. Denying that Andrew Tate has influence and his message resonates with lot of young men is of course less bonkers - a lot less bonkers - than saying women can have a penis, but it would be a lie all the same.

Still, not the level of mind-bending insanity that implying Rosie Duffield is some kind of dreadful person for saying only women have a cervix. A simple statement of biological fact.

Personally I am eyeing the lurch towards the populist right in Europe with some concern. Everyone must obviously vote as they see fit, but I will not be giving Reform a protest vote as they seem to be shaping up to be the Berlusconis and Le Pens of the UK.
