Has anyone noticed a dialling down in PRIDE logos on business websites today?

Which month is disability awareness month?
Which month is anti-racism month?

I don't know about anti-racism month, but Disability Awareness month is July and (as part of our ED&I stuff) I'm making sure that we do plenty to celebrate it at work. I had said I was taking a backseat on Pride month but decided it was probably wise to do some bits and pieces to make sure the focus was mostly with LGB.

It's about balance. Did you know that it's international milk day?

YourPinkDog · 01/06/2024 17:26

A marketing day dreamt up by the defunct Milk Marketing Board.

Report the homophobia. MNHQ will deal with it

sunflowrsngunpowdr · 01/06/2024 17:28

I've just been out to blue water. I only noticed one reference to it in tgi Fridays but nothing other than that. It's only 01/06 tho so they have plenty of time to ramp it up.

“it's straight month , every month, forever?”

you’re right. I’m off to put up my ‘straight’ flags and ‘cis’ banners. I’ll be wearing my special vanilla coloured laces to show other straights that they are safe talking to me.

lol

No they will not.
Do you all just want gay people to go away? Back in your closets please.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 01/06/2024 17:39

Pride has fuck all to do with LGB rights nowadays - just like Stonewall. I’m a lesbian living & working in London, & in June I avoid the centre as much as possible because those flags feel hostile.

Which is pretty depressing given how excited I was about my first Pride march 20-ish years ago.

YourPinkDog · 01/06/2024 17:40

You think Pride has nothing to do with lesbians or gay people? Our local PRIDE march will be full of lesbian and gay people.

You mean PRIDE itself right? As it has nothing to do with Gays or Lesbians any more.

No, people are fed up with Rainbow Washing. Are you fine with it? Genuine LGB people like me are fed up with this commercialised nonsense from companies that dared not show any support 15 years ago.

Why do you think MNHQ will ignore homophobia?

I would think they are pretty hot on things like that?

YourPinkDog · 01/06/2024 17:46

What is a genuinely LGB person?

PeppercornMill · 01/06/2024 17:46

I think peak Pride was 2022, when everyone was doing Pride (even Lego), the usual suspects are still doing Pride ranges (like Adidas, Calvin Klein etc), but by the looks of it they've dropped having men wearing bikinis now, and toned down the ranges.

Remember Sainsbury's two years ago had a big stand with Pride party pieces, they didn't do that again due to poor sales.

What is a genuinely LGB person?

Someone same sex attracted; either exclusively or none exclusively.
Your welcome.

I agree with that. It seemed strange terminology to use though. As if only people who agree with you about Pride could be LGB. When the truth is Prides all around Britain are full of LGB people.

Fariha31 · 01/06/2024 17:50

Odd that my pink dog can see homophobia when others miss it but does not know what a homosexual is?
Curious.

Because the TQ+ are not same-sex attracted.

So because Trans and queer people go to Pride no LGB people should go to Pride?

What does this mean?
Why is it strange terminology? what other terminology is there?
And whats with the only people who agree with me? agree with me on what?
and how does that effect pride month around Britain?

Being gay or lesbian is not so accepted now.
