KJK supports Trump

1000 replies

NefertitiV · 31/05/2024 02:36

After the Trump verdict today, KJK retweeted three supportive tweets to her timeline, including one from US ex-Fox host Megyn Kelly that says "Guilty on all counts. The country is disgraced. Alvin Bragg should be disbarred. They will rue the day they released this lawfare to corrupt a presidential election."

Another tweet makes fun of President Biden's stutter.

This is someone currently up for election herself. Given her recent remarks about barring rentals to all trans people, and the fact she has received funding from US conservative political groups, does this concern you?

I do worry about this. For political movements, figureheads matter, and KJK is a figurehead. She has done some great stuff in highlighting the issues (LOVED adult human female bill boards).

More recently some of her comments seem to be less about protecting the rights of women and children and more about punishing trans identified people. This is not rational or reasonable.

Displaying clear support for Trump, one of the most vile misogynists there is, both undermines her messages about the importance of safeguarding for women and children and gives fuel to the theory that the UK gender critical movement is fuelled by shadowy far right organisations. Like Glinner, she is in real danger of doing more harm than good, for herself and the movement as a whole.

I totally agree with you but you won’t get much support here unfortunately 🙁

mrshoho · 31/05/2024 07:28

No in answer to your question. It doesn't concern me.

Brefugee · 31/05/2024 07:30

are we getting back to "but wait, you support women's sex based rights and so do nazis so you're a nazi" type of arguments here?

I don't agree with KJK on many many things (she's not a feminist for starters, and her recent comments about being allowed to discriminate didn't land well with me) but is she really a Trump shill? or is she retweeting to highlight what other people think? (i sometimes RT things i am absolutely opposed to for coverage)

EasternStandard · 31/05/2024 07:35

Out of all the things going on in the world this is pretty much zero at concern level

I think she’s bigger in people’s minds than warranted for some reason

StatelyBouquet · 31/05/2024 07:42

I also agree with this.

I saw her speak a while back, and was left feeling quite uncomfortable.

This is unacceptable and disgusting not to say ableist and juvenile, but sadly politicians in the UK do this too about MPs with a stutter . One LibDem actually resigned recently partly because of MPs mocking his speech .

Just to be clear - two wrongs don’t make a right so I’m not saying this so as to excuse her. I just wanted to address this point about her ableism as I don’t see it been mentioned in many/any of the replies and often it’s overlooked by people on all ends of the political spectrum.

MyOleMan · 31/05/2024 07:46

I’m pleased to see that kjk is being honest about her politics. Yes of course she supports Donald Trump and Nigel Farage. She loves outrage and simple slogans. That whole ‘I used to be a member of Labour’ thing was clearly said to build up her support base. Now that she has given politics a little thought, she is clearly way more right wing than she knew herself. She's a politician now. She’ll say whatever gets her more votes.

MyOleMan · 31/05/2024 07:48

What made you uncomfortable @StatelyBouquet ?

CountFucula · 31/05/2024 07:27

KJK is an articulate right winger

I prefer my GC heroes to be articulate left wingers.

I absolutely agree. It says something about her character.

NefertitiV · 31/05/2024 07:49

@AlisonDonut

If you don't like her twitter feed then maybe don't read that. You can even hide it, but then you wouldn't be able to stalk her right?

You just talked about bubbles to another poster. I don't like living in a bubble, so I read from a spectrum of views. Some I prefer more than others, but I think it's important to be aware of other views. Don't you?

Well at least Trump knows what a woman is. And hasn't introduced VAT on private school fees. This board is an embarrassment.

Which tweet is this?

ValueAddedTaxonomy · 31/05/2024 07:52

I feel concerned that during the GE she will become widely seen as the 'face of GC women'. I certainly wish that could be somebody else.

NashvilleQueen · 31/05/2024 07:53

@ValueAddedTaxonomy agreed.

BlackForestCake · 31/05/2024 07:53

Sure, women are the kind of people he likes to sexually assault.

I never said she's a Nazi. You are the first to bring that word up in the thread. I hope it won't degenerate now that you've said it.

As to why she retweeted the Trump posts, given past history, I don't think she's opposed to those views. She has re-tweeted Megyn Kelly numerous times before uncritically, for example.

I didn’t know much about her. I went to a rally as GC and wanted to support. But it became clear that there was more to this than simply women won’t wheesht: there were unpleasant comments and the vibe was not for me. I remain GC but the ultra conservative position behind some of it is not for me

Op given you care about single sex issues who do you back?

KJK isn’t going to change to suit your or everyone’s preference so who does?

Could you do it better? She just started from posting and campaigning

What an odd thing to say? How is reading someone's Twitter feed "stalking" them?
