KJK is appealing for people to stand as candidates, and to be agents, helpers, canvasers etc. She is also gardening at Give Send Go - Party Of Women Election Campaign. I know she knows PoW won't get anywhere but I hope she makes a few waves, takes a few votes and maybe by doing that disrupts what might have been a smooth election for any complacent ignorers of women's rights.

What are their policies?

What are their policies?

To make sure that people can safely say:

No woman has a penis
No man has a vagina
There is no such thing as "non-binary"
And "transitioning" children is abuse

MyOleMan · 29/05/2024 17:03

Anyone can say that. I say that pretty much every day of my life. And a lot more besides

You would hope so wouldn’t you? But every time KJK sets up a stand somewhere to say that she is threatened, harassed and drowned out whilst the police stand and watch

has your life been in grave danger for saying those things?

have you put your head above the parapet and said it out loud and to anyone who will listen?

I guess you don't work in the public sector or engage in politics.

Please can POW stand in Leeds NW?

Sloejelly · 29/05/2024 21:25

BackToLurk · 29/05/2024 17:52

How?

By saying it loudly and challenging politicians to say it too.

exexpat · 29/05/2024 21:32

Anyone thinking of supporting KJK (with cash or otherwise) should probably watch a few of her videos first. In one of her latest ones, she seemed to say that she would actively discriminate against trans people, which is a) illegal, and b) gives ammunition to the TRAs who describe anyone GC as transphobic.

Good thread about it here on X/Twitter: https://x.com/GappyTales/status/1794026078249549930

There are good reasons why many prominent people in the GC movement have distanced themselves from KJK (eg Maya Forstater, Sarah Phillimore, Jane Clare Jones, Sex Matters organisation, Helen Joyce etc).

It is not illegal for people acting in an individual capacity to discriminate against anyone, and given the violence and threats of violence directed towards KJK and her family then it is no surprise she would discriminate against them.

Are you also calling out transideologues who harass and discriminate against GC men and women and drive them out of employment, deny them services, threaten then, physically attack them, refuse to sell their products, destroy their businesses, expel them from political parties for stating sex is real?

TheRozzers · 29/05/2024 21:48

I don't think KJK can be taken seriously as a politician after this video:

Stating sex is real and immutable is fine.

Encouraging discrimination against trans people isn't okay.

Of course I don't support TRAs who harass or discriminate against GC women; I do not support harassment or discrimination against anybody.

All I am saying is that KJK's rhetoric is not helpful if we want not to be seen as just as bad as the TRAs.

If you watch her videos and can get on board with her views, fine, that is up to you. But there is more to what she is saying than the common set of beliefs about the immutability of sex, importance of single sex spaces and sports, dangers of child transition etc which are shared by most people who would describe themselves as GC.

Motorina · 29/05/2024 21:54

A few days ago, I'd planned on spoiling my ballot by writing in "Party of Women" and marking it with an X. Now, I'm dithering about whether or not to join/donate. The views KJK expresses in that video are not my views and I cannot support them, despite having huge admiration for how she has tackled this issue head on in the face of relentless hostility. I agree that that clip has undermined her credibility no end.

TheRozzers · 29/05/2024 22:09

Yes, it's absolutely undermined her credibility. That video will be used to define KJK now, as unfair as that may feel. That's politics.

I hope MNHQ allows this thread to stand, as other threads discussing the video were deleted.

We cannot discuss on here why I think it might be reasonable to discriminate. But do you think this person is an appropriate person to care for a vulnerable woman? https://x.com/Gaynotqueer1/status/1795779253868392585

WhatWillSwingIt · 29/05/2024 22:25

This is exciting! KJK said in her video that she doesn’t care what other opinions women who want to stand for or become members for PoW have or voice.

As @Sloejelly says, the only ‘policy’ is to say:

No woman has a penis.
No man has a vagina.
There is no such thing as "non-binary".
And "transitioning" children is abuse.

She was ranting with ‘no filter’ when she talked hypothetically about ‘if [she] was a landlord’, and this was obviously not a PoW policy - since the party doesn’t have any. The purpose is not to win seats but to get women’s rights, and safeguarding women and children to be an election issue for all parties.

Good luck PoW!

thistimelastweek · 29/05/2024 22:33

KJK seems awfully clever at getting other people to fund her transphobia.

BackToLurk · 29/05/2024 22:36

Lots of MPs will stand up for vulnerable women receiving single sex care without actively encouraging discrimination against trans people. Rosie Duffield, Kemi Badenoch, Wes Streeting, Joanna Cherry.

It's not like KJK is the only one speaking up.

‘transphobia’? Yes it is.

thistimelastweek · 29/05/2024 23:08

You can't pretend transphobia doesn't exist.
You can be GC and recognise transphobia.
You can stand up for women's rights without being a hater.

WhatWillSwingIt · 29/05/2024 23:19

I don’t believe in ‘trans’ as a real physical thing. There are women and there are men. Some women and men conform to sex roles and stereotypes, some reject them, and some adopt the opposite sex roles and stereotypes.

There’s no need to think a person has become a different type of human being, just because they adopt opposite sex roles stereotypes or even have extreme forms of surgery and drugs to appear as though they are the opposite sex.

So if a person doesn’t recognise ‘trans’ as an actual thing, there is nothing to be ‘irrational fearful’ of, which deserves to have its own title of ‘phobia’.

I am not ‘pretending’ anything, I’m just not buying into the faith of ‘trans’ and all the beliefs that go with it.
