https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/05/26/trans-problems-urinary-bowel-incontinent-young-detransition/

The Telegraph reporting on worrying data showing that young women who've been persuaded that they've been "born in the wrong body" and are on cross sex hormones are experiencing major problems from their use with 95 per cent developing pelvic floor dysfunction.

"Around 87 per cent of the participants had urinary symptoms such as incontinence, frequent toilet visits and bed-wetting, while 74 per cent had bowel issues including constipation or being unable to hold stools or wind in. Some 53 per cent suffered from sexual dysfunction".

And our sainted NHS have been contributing to this without conducting any research.

Trans men taking testosterone getting ‘postmenopausal’ problems aged 28’

Study found many had bladder and bowel symptoms they would expect to see in a woman after the menopause

I hadn't heard about the increased cancer risk. Do you know of any links to related articles?

My sister transitioned around 5 years ago and now has stage 4 cancer. Everyone insists that it isn't related to the testosterone, but it's hard not to wonder.

I'm really sorry to hear about your sister.

I am not up to speed on cancer risk; a quick look seems to suggest the problem is lack of evidence and research:

Not to mention the complication rate of phalloplasty.

It’s one of the most brutal and barbaric things they do to transgender-identified people in my opinion, and that is really saying something:

Take a mentally ill young women. Strip the flesh from her arm to form an unfeeling lump of flesh to sew to her groin. Leave her with endless urinary infections, incontinence and debilitating chronic pain. Burn away her vagina and sew up the wound. Peel the skin from her clitoris to hide that too. Leave her unable to orgasm or feel a partner’s loving touch. Tell her that her defective female body has been fixed and send her off to begin her new happy life.

It breaks my heart. I tried to explain the terrible consequences to a young woman who identifies as a transman. She is so convinced that it is the only thing that will make her happy that she says she will accept every single consequence of it. I don’t think there is anything one could do or say to dissuade her. She admits that her mother is desperately fearful.

Somebody so unwell needs to be protected from themselves, not encouraged. I think about my son, he suffers schizophrenia and that is heart breaking as it is. Thank goodness the doctors and nurses who care for him don’t encourage him to keep digging the government implants out of his body or let him roam the streets confused, scared and in danger. I can’t imagine how the parents of these young woman must feel, seeing their children descend into mental illness with no recourse to step in and help them.

Another paper here:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5868281/

'Cases of presumably hormone-related malignancies in transwomen diagnosed after the initiation of medical or surgical gender affirmation include carcinomas of the breast and prostate, prolactinomas, and meningiomas (16, 3863). In transmen, published case reports describe cancers of the breast, ovaries, cervix, vagina, and endometrium'

Again, though, the data looks quite scant.

'Based on the available evidence, the concerns about cancer in transgender populations, albeit biologically plausible, are neither adequately supported nor convincingly alleviated because of a lack of well-designed epidemiologic studies. This lack of high-quality data is acknowledged in the current guidelines issued by various professional organizations'

Cancer in Transgender People: Evidence and Methodological Considerations

Transgender people comprise a diverse group of individuals whose gender identity or expression differs from that originally assigned to them at birth. Some, but not all, transgender people elect to undergo medical gender affirmation, which may include...

There was a great podcast with Mia Hughes (who wrote the WPATH files) on lobotomy recently and the parallels with gender medicine.

Thank you I must take a look. I can only hope the cass report is the first step towards the medical class finally recognising the harm they are inflicting on these vulnerable people.

But it has been well known since those poor East German female athletes all suffered terribly and died prematurely due to being given testosterone. As pp said, it is all in Sharron Davis' book.
Look at the cardiac and stroke risk in young men who take oestrogen. The risk of sight loss. It is horrendous. It is much more well known in USA.

This is a very good point. It's even worse than not knowing. They knew, and they did it anyway.

We see the same dynamic at work in the infected blood scandal - they knew that children would die and they gave them the infected blood anyway.

Always a mistake to assume that all doctors act in the best interest of their patients.

I fail to understand why anyone is surprised about this. Introducing alien substances into the body will surely have detrimental effects
Hasn't anyone actually realised this?

I have no doubt that the AGPs pushing for this mutilation (but never once considering harming their own bodies in such a way!) will do everything in their power to prevent such research being undertaken.

What will they do when they can no longer hide behind mentally ill children and young people?

Sadly, on this board we have have numerous male people with trans identities who show that they can only ever support all supposed ‘gender affirming’ treatment. Because to acknowledge that it is more brutal to the female body means they have to acknowledge that feminists have a point, that they themselves are not female sexed, and that their repeated come backs of them not having brutal side effects means that they are self absorbed male people who are only activating for male people and yet, keep identifying that they are feminists.

Signalbox · 26/05/2024 20:30

Presumably if there is an increased cancer risk this will become evident when they are able to do the follow up analysis on the adult Tavistock patients. Hopefully Labour will be sensible enough to continue to pursue this if they win the election.

IT’S SO BLOODY FUCKING OBVIOUS! NO ONE WHO TRAINED AS A DOCTOR CAN PRETEND THEY COULDN’T GUESS TESTOSTERONE WOULD DAMAGE FEMALE BODIES!

Sorry to shout. It was that or start screaming and smashing furniture.

It has always been so bloody obvious. It doesn’t even require specialist medical knowledge — anyone could have guessed. Medical experimentation on uninformed adolescents.

God, I can’t wait for the lawsuits to start pouring in.

Indeed, they couldn’t care less about trans-identified women. They use the very thing these women are so distressed about to try and erase the reality of the female body. They tell them how much luckier they are because testosterone causes more harmful and irreversible changes than oestrogen. They deny the violence, rape and cruelty inflicted on these women whilst constantly positioning themselves as the most oppressed and mistreated minority in existence. And then they laugh at them because the surgery to create a penis is so much more barbaric and crude than anything they will ever be put through. (Not that many of them actually do remove their penises of course!)

porridgecake · 26/05/2024 20:36

It has all gone very quiet on the Cass report.

There are also numerous past reports of male people with trans identities who put themselves in LGBT youth group leaders preying on those young female people who identified as boys / young men. Benji from Canada was one of the first I heard describe how she was groomed. And she said all the teen females were groomed in the group. I have heard this numerous times since.

I hope this has stopped but I don’t have confidence.

Of course, those male people require these young female people to push for the treatment to be accepted and validated.

Yes the last I heard the gender clinics had been instructed to hand over the data, but I haven’t heard anything that confirms that has occurred yet.

porridgecake · 26/05/2024 21:01

Dr Cass can't even go on public transport. I have no idea who could be persuaded to do an inquiry into adults.

porridgecake · 26/05/2024 21:03

Look at the level of rape threats, death threats and violence. Who would want to deal with that?

YourPithyLilacSheep · 26/05/2024 21:10

This whole thing is so sad. I have a young relative who's been taking these strong drugs since just before her 17th birthday, with full support of one parent at least. What it is doing to that young body, I do not know. It's tragic. And makes me so, so angry.

But to keep family connections open, I bite my tongue.

But it's awful, just awful to use young girls and women as experimental subjects.

GailBlancheViola · 26/05/2024 21:12

This is off the scale depressing. Everyone and I mean everyone involved in this even if was just cheering from the side lines should be made accountable, publicly named and shamed and facing prison terms where applicable. It's just horrendous.

yes. Including rape and other threats to detransitioner female people for discussing the damage to their bodies.

Every so often, Sinead Watson gets her testosterone levels checks. They are still very high despite not having a dose for four years. It is very distressing to think that the body holds on to this hormone the way it has done in her case.
