https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/05/26/trans-problems-urinary-bowel-incontinent-young-detransition/

The Telegraph reporting on worrying data showing that young women who've been persuaded that they've been "born in the wrong body" and are on cross sex hormones are experiencing major problems from their use with 95 per cent developing pelvic floor dysfunction.

"Around 87 per cent of the participants had urinary symptoms such as incontinence, frequent toilet visits and bed-wetting, while 74 per cent had bowel issues including constipation or being unable to hold stools or wind in. Some 53 per cent suffered from sexual dysfunction".

And our sainted NHS have been contributing to this without conducting any research.

Trans men taking testosterone getting ‘postmenopausal’ problems aged 28’

Study found many had bladder and bowel symptoms they would expect to see in a woman after the menopause

Re: the increased cancer risk

I have had dealings with one trans man who developed liver cancer and sadly died about a year later.

Primary Liver cancer tends to be more common in men, thought to be testosterone related.

When this person presented the first thing the oncologist did is advise discontinuation of testosterone treatment which the person had been on for about two years. It's hard not to conclude there was a likely link.

I've no idea whether this case would have been reported to any central cancer monitoring system. Probably not.

Sorry for your sister @Forhecksake
You didn't mention which type of cancer she has.

Even if this was reported to central cancer monitoring groups the NHS allows these female patients to change their NHS numbers so it's reasonable to assume the majority are reported as liver cancers in males. The younger age cohort might prompt further investigation but the sex-based aspect will be masked by trans-inclusive practices in the NHS. 😞

RainWithSunnySpells · 28/05/2024 08:35

Letting people change their NHS number is daft in the extreme.

I don't know if anyone has seen anything written by Gruffin a transman/trans identified female who has had terrible health issues? It's just heartbreaking.

It is complete hubris to think that we can mess with biology as we please and for there to be no consequences.

Thank you for posting this. Gruffin's story is horrific. Clearly a mentally unwell and vulnerable child from the off, she was tipped onto the trans pathway when she was still a minor and clearly was obsessed by the idea that it would solve all her problems. Doubled down aggressively on trans ideology when people online started to question whether this was the right path for her. Now she is staring down the barrell of a no doubt vastly shortened life expectancy, in constant pain and alone. Gruffin makes me want to cry.

DH gets testosterone injections relating to a condition he has. It’s like male HRT. I can’t tell you the fuck on we have to get it done. Ordering it, finding a nurse trained to administer it, we aren’t allowed to do it ourselves.
How are these young women managing to get it i will never understand.

I have read that the needle used for T injections is much larger than the norm because it is intramuscular, which is why it needs to be done by a specialist nurse. And that it is very painful. So yes it is a dereliction of duty that medical professionals in the US are allowing teen girls to do it to themselves.

They are risking all sorts of horrible sharps injuries by doing so.

I have seen heartrending vlogs by teen girls confessing that it takes them a whole day of dread, procrastination and fear before they can bring themselves to inject themselves with T, because it's so hard and hurts so much.

My heart breaks to think of the level of self-hatred it must therefore take to do it weekly. And how this time could be better spent on healing their mental distress.

An aside but does anyone know what impact transitioning has on the health of boys who take puberty blockers/cross sex hormones?

I’m sure I’ve read something about an increased incidence of MS but can’t remember if that was in men or women.

And also problems with mobility- again I can’t remember the details but I imagine that might be to do with osteoporosis.

I’d appreciate any links. Thank you.

Look up Exulansic on Twitter and Odyssee.

Some effects include:

  • obesity
  • osteoporsis
  • joint and nerve degeneracy
  • cognitive impairment
  • micropenis
  • anorgasmia
  • depression

As a post menopausal woman I'd been told some testosterone helped with pelvic floor issues, a friend was told the same after an early hysterectomy. Are post menopausal women being misled?

I understand that a very low dose of testosterone is prescribed to replace the tiny amounts normally produced by women from the ovaries.

Testosterone is potent stuff, and anyone using the gel form needs to be careful - the Government issued a warning after a baby developed signs of puberty when the father, who was using the medication, didn’t wash his hands properly. Here’s the official advice

Jesus fucking christ. How has this happened?

I admit to not knowing anyone among my, or my DC's friends/family that are trans, but I have often wondered who plants the seed in a young/person's head that makes them question their gender in the first place.

I remember reading that transmen who become pregnant have smaller babies, and that the babies often have to be delivered early because inadequate placentas fail to supply sufficient nutrients to the foetus. And that is just known problems with the pregnancy, goodness knows the effect on the children in later life.

As an aside, I tried to find the original story for this and failed ( I think it was a Freddie M story, say no more) but what struck me in my google search was that nearly every single story or report that came up as a result of searching transman / pregnancy/ issues seemed to be almost entirely focussed on the trans person’s mental distress and increased body dysphoria. My first thought was “ Well, no shit Sherlock”, which I accept was mean, but my second thought was , “Hold on, shouldn’t there be some referenced research to the baby, the baby’s health, the baby’s development in early years and beyond? “ but no, there is pretty much none that I could see.

Seems the baby and any concerns as to the possible future health of the baby through exposure to its parents medication is mere collateral damage in comparison to concerns about the trans persons feelings and needs. One story I read was of a transman who became pregnant only two months after stopping taking testosterone. Two monthsIs ! Is anyone monitoring how long this stuff stays in the body, how it affects eggs, foetal development, duration of the pregnancy, the placenta? It seems not.

School and social media.

Never when I, or my DC, albeit in their early 30's now, had ever mentioned to me that school were having discussions on anything to do with changing gender.
When I wasn't in school uniform I grew up living in jeans/T shirts and a bomber jacket, one of many local Tom Boys...
But not once did it occur to me, or my parents, I wasn't a girl.

You can't legally smoke/drink until your 18 so why anyone would think it's acceptable to be able to let young children have access to beta blockers and hormones that aren't designed for them is unthinkable.

No apologies either to parents that have allowed it to happen.
I know if it had been my DC I'd have acted in the way a PP has mention.

Ultimately talking a child into changing gender is not something a school or any professional should get a say in.

Bloopereal · 28/05/2024 10:07

No it wasn't happening when your children (and mine) were in school.

My now 30yo dd has said she's glad she was born when she was, as it's likely that she would have gone down that route with current messaging, as she was an autistic tomboy.

Surely this is the equivalent of putting petrol in a diesel car, or vice versa, and expecting it all to be alright really - except we're talking about human beings here and not just replaceable inanimate chunks of metal.

Both fuels basically do the same thing - and they each work brilliantly and efficiently in the correct context - and they both have a great deal in common in their chemical formulation... but everybody knows what happens if you mix them up, which is why absolutely nobody ever pumps in the wrong one on purpose.

Why are we deliberately choosing to ignore basic common sense? Why are we actively and wilfully subjecting precious human bodies to something that we would lament if we realised we'd accidentally done it to a 16yo hatchback worth a few hundred quid?

RoyalCorgi · 28/05/2024 10:26

Good analogy, SirAlfred.

Coming back to viques's point, it seems unbelievable that, given that maternity care as a rule is so obsessed with the health of the baby, with multiple antenatal checks, exhortations not to smoke, drink, eat soft cheese and so on, when it comes to testosterone apparently no one cares about what the impact on the baby might be.

A friend who had previously been my brother's school year transitioned a number of years prior. And my brother was very heavy immersed in early social media.

This seems to be the case in every case I know of someone under 40 years of age.

Yes he complains about his bum hurting for days afterwards. He’s been diabetic since he was young and used to needles and still not allowed.

So many terrible stories - and yet today, this is still continuing with teenagers being convinced that changing sex will cure their problems - all aided and abetted by irresponsible adults and groups.

Yes it's so noticeable. Everything must bow and give way to the sacred "truth" that is being trans – which cannot be tested for, proved or verified. If you're trans and pregnant, then you can do no wrong and your feelings matter more than the baby - yet if you're just a boring old woman having a baby, everything to do with protecting the baby's health in the womb is on you and you shouldn't be letting any harmful foods or medicines enter your body.

I don't understand how so many HCPs have ended up going along with this.

The glamorisation of double breast mastectomies as 'gender affirmation' is hugely concerning.

I remember on a thread bringing this up to have a poster who can only be described as an extreme trans rights activist casually dismiss double mastectomies, and phaloplasties and the life long negative side effects of testosterone as 'it is acceptable risk for the benefits of gender affirming care' (my paraphrase). That the brutality of these treatments is considered 'meh, it is just acceptable risk' is very concerning indeed.

But I can only ever see it as misogyny because it has been mostly male people pushing this need for affirming treatments. They have leveraged young women and children to achieve the position where 'gender affirming care' is to be considered life saving and cannot be questioned or discussed.

That Ru Paul found this appropriate shows the complete lack of care for any female person. That was not a celebration of that surgery, that was a stark reminder of just how female people are still being used to prop up a male dominated movement and misogyny.

That's how I involuntarily see the picture of that woman.

Naked, surrounded by men dressed as women (not naked) absolutely salivating over female mutilation in order to prop up their own women hating fantasies.

ArabellaScott · 28/05/2024 11:27

Yes, it's not 'lack of care', it's part of actually despising women.
