I went off him big time when he boasted about bullying teen girls who weren't happy about him being in a female toilet. Because ffs Eddie, bullying young girls and writing about it later ? That’s exactly what mean middle aged men in the wrong place do. Teenage girls aren’t bothered by middle aged women in female toilets, but they are right to be worried about nasty spiteful middle aged men with burly shoulders, and guess what, you proved their point.

It is odd. For Eddie seems to be a very short mini skirt, high heels and red lipstick. Which, to me, betrays his "inner male":all day long.

Eddie should stand in Newham. An area with a high Muslim population and English as a second language BUT also (according to the ONS) the area with the highest number of trans people in the UK. Many people have pointed out that the question in the last census was badly worded and open to misinterpretation as evidenced by a Muslim area with English as a second language coming top of the trans population. The ONS has responded, infront of a parliamentary committee, that there is NO fault in there methodology (because they are perfect and questioning anything trans is transphobic so they won't listen) so Eddie should go right ahead and stand in Newham, safe in the knowledge that the ONS has identified it as Trans central.

@FrogTheWarrior No man, however they identify, should be in areas designated for women only. This is for safeguarding reasons because it's normally impossible to know who is going to be harmful to us in some way. Of course that doesn't mean that all men are wrong'uns.

To say that men are welcome in women's spaces provided they identify as women is an open door to those men who want to take advantage in some way. Take a male voyeur for example. Normally he would not be allowed in the women's loos, but the second he says "I identity as a woman" (whether he's lying or not) gives him free access to be a perv at some poor woman's expense. So, how do you know which ones are aye gee pees/pervs, and which ones are genuine "trans"? You don't. So even if all "genuine" TIMs are safe and respectful, the very fact they are actually men (they're only changing their external appearance to be more feminine, not their personality) means they should not be in women's spaces.

It is telling that Eddie doesn’t realise this, and also telling that it hasn’t occurred to him that if by some mischance of us stepping momentarily into a parallel universe, he was elected to Parliament, then he would immediately be making it clear to 50% of his electorate that their views, safety and wellbeing were no concern of his.

I imagine that at least some of the women on the selection panel, even a Labour Party selection panel, would have felt uncomfortable with his views, which is perhaps why he wasn’t selected.

It amazes me how menacing the standing picture looks. I mean, if you saw someone standing near you looking like that, you’d be a bit freaked out. I would, anyway.

Yes, I noticed that as well, curse your eyes for beating me to it! As for big boots, I was at the Northumberland County Show yesterday and it was a quagmire. Women with big boots, from army boots, to walking boots and wellies abounded. Good job Eddie wasn't there, he'd have had a conniption fit!

He may well not be a sexual predator, but a man who boasts of frightening teenaged girls in the ladies is certainly behaving inappropriately because of his sex. They almost certainly perceived him as just that and he seems to think that they bullied him.

Oh, I forgot - I only got halfway through that screed of self-serving twaddle, before I lost the will to live and closed the tab.
