Yeah she’s given up on Starmer’s constituency. She’d be totally ignored, wouldn’t get a look in. In Bristol I suspect there’ll be a big push back against her and probably lots of negative publicity (she hopes) directed at progressives and TRAs when they kick off.
@SinnerBoy are you in a position that the state of the UK doesn’t affect you ? Fwiw I’m gender critical but the way this lot have governed, they really don’t deserve to win.

Edited

I agree. Bristol West is where a lot of the students are so i think she's calculated its her best chance for clicks. If she managed to get nominated.

Also because of the students it has a reputation for being quite a winnable seat (used to live there). So maybe she's still obsessing about "never losing"

Can't see the chopping and changing nominations is going to help her - it looks flaky.

Plus interesting she's going up against a woman again.

Labour aren't owed our votes. If they want to get them, they need to offer something we want to vote for.

Most people on here aren't keen on the Tories (understatement), but also can't vote Labour. You see those kind of posts over and over (re being politically homeless).

I'm not sure why you seem to think we all HAVE to vote Labour for the sake of the country.

Labour are keeping the Tories' spending plans for a start. Not sure much can change, given that fact. Then add on the women's rights issue and it's a hard no.

Indie or none of the above are totally legitimate options.

DialSquare · 07/06/2024 08:23

I can't vote Labour or Conservative. Labour have shown me that the way they have behaved over this issue means they cannot be trusted. Obviously Greens and Lib Dems are even worse. So as NoWordForFluffy said, it's either Independent or nobody.

JoandArcFeminist · 07/06/2024 11:41

I'll be honest. I'm kind of glad if she isn't standing in Bristol anymore, slowly trying to bring young women around through their already left-wing values here. I worry that a big furore involving her would chase those women away from 'terfery'

BezMills · 07/06/2024 12:01

They'll either decide that their sex-based oppression is important enough to care about, or maybe they'll just opt out of it using gender magic, which will be just fine.

AdamRyan · 06/06/2024 14:07

Or maybe it really WAS a gigantic grift all along? Didn't she use Farages technique of registering her party as a business?

Yes, it's the same set up as Reform.

BezMills · 07/06/2024 12:13

She must be doing something right, what a ledge

Any objection to the labour party using a limited company for their property assets. Is that a grift??

Stop with the false equivalence and whataboutery.

Setting up as a company gives the company majority shareholder ultimate control. They can take membership money and spend it on whatever they like (including dividends to shareholders, presumably).

The members don't really have a say - they are dependent on the owner listening to them.

It's a dictatorial structure, not a democratic one.

I'm surprised its allowed really

Reform UK’s unusual structure with Nigel Farage in the middle

Farage insists he is not a politician — but within the rightwing populist party, he is kingmaker

AdamRyan · 07/06/2024 13:59

Any news on if she's standing yet?

Needmoresleep · 07/06/2024 14:02

Perhaps those who believe KJK gets it wrong at every turn should volunteer to help her campaign. If they are as right as they think they are, and as feminist as they say they are, their assistance would be invaluable.

Companies limited by guarantee don't have shareholders

JoandArcFeminist · 07/06/2024 14:22

I thought KJK wasn't a feminist?

Anyway I asked to help out / find out more but I just moved and am in the wrong constituency lol

No chance. We have a very different outlook on populism, immigration and Islam. The fact she says "women have vaginas" isn't enough for me to be interested.

After the TR thread I might join WPUK though.

Ah OK. I thought it was just a standard Ltd company. Maybe its different to Farage then.

What happens to the membership fees if the party ceases to exist?

Who knows who is in the wrong or right constituency yet? It's a real thriller

JoandArcFeminist · 07/06/2024 15:17

I'm DM her again and ask if she'll run a few postcodes south instead 😆

IwantToRetire · 07/06/2024 17:23

Just to add I suspect when I posted as a joke she should stand in Bristol given some of the candidates, it has somehow become a "fact".

And as we know the usual suspects have now turned it into KJK has done things wrong again.

So as usual, dont take the bait of the usual suspects. This is how these threads become meaningless.

Just a reminder that the suggestion of Bristol was back when we (not KJK) were indulging in what ifs.

Mine in fact ended on being she should stand against Angela Raynor. Given her remarks about trans women, and being deputy leader.

But quite honestly I think what with the election and LWS tomorrow in Norwich I dont think KJK needs to put any time into a thread on FWR, most of which is just the usual negativity = any one whose doesn't vote Labour air head fan girl easily subverted by right wingers.

In the meantime, if you see the thread about LWS in Norwich, the actual reality is a well orchestrated anti KJK protest.

So lets hope KJK and all who attend will be safe.

Wasn't it the fact she tweeted that she was in Bristol Central looking for nominations?

DrSpartacularsUltraFeminism · 07/06/2024 18:23

Here we go, first one I've seen announced, Julia Long is standing for PoW.

Could be but as I am not on twitter didn't know - but if true pleased to have been near the mark ... (even if I later changed my mind).

Can you give the link, not clear which constituency or who, assuming there is one, is the Labour candidate.

Thanks

I don't have a link. That's all I have seen.
