So, any news on if KJK actually has a seat? If not it will be one of my top favourite election fuck up moments

(After Kemi on GMB, and the Sunak £2000 lie debacle)

Winnading · 06/06/2024 20:48

EffieeBriest · 06/06/2024 13:52

Lol what you mean is most folk are sick to death of our lying government and throwing a few derisory crumbs to single issue voting gullible women to garner votes is pathetic.

Edited

Hows that patronising us into voting labour going for you?

Sheesh, could you try harder to show your superiority.

BezMills · 06/06/2024 20:59

AdamRyan · 06/06/2024 19:11

Ah. Maybe you should have a chat with Sunak about it, his team were very clear about the continued existence of "legal women" the other day.

Why would you recommend I have a chat with Sunak? You notice me asking you to chat to some random politicians you've never met?

@Winnading superiority how so ? Saying the tories are Charlatans ? Hell, vote for whoever you want but don’t try to make out a vote for the Conservatives is striking a blow for women. It isn’t.

Shadowboxing with strawmen. Odd hobby.

Then dont make out that everyone of us is a gullible woman, and we'll be just fine.

EffieeBriest · 06/06/2024 21:29

The ones claiming they are voting for the conservatives because they know what a woman is are beyond gullible.

Your opinion, which is fine, but do you see it's not going to sway us? Patronising will just get our backs up.

Do you see us using insults at voters?

NoWordForFluffy · 06/06/2024 21:33

People can vote for whoever they like for whatever reason they like. That's the amazing thing about democracy. Even if some people don't like them voting that way. Revo-fucking-lutionary!

I'd say anyone thinking Labour have said they're going to protect women's rights is at best mistaken, at worst quite gullible themselves. But there you go!

SinnerBoy · 06/06/2024 21:46

EffieeBriest · Today 13:55

Labour wokie blokies 😂 So you’d rather have a misogynistic lying tory non woke bloke. Who hates women, but dislikes trans women and the gays even more.

Shades of:

Hitler's horrible, ergo, Stalin's a great bunch of lads!

Yes. I realised I'd made a mistake in assuming you'd addressed me so I edited it. Not particularly remarkable is it?

AdamRyan · 06/06/2024 22:32

For people who can't see it, I said I don't care who you vote for. And I don't. Vote for who you like. Voting for anyone is better than disengaging from democracy.

NoWordForFluffy · 06/06/2024 22:39

Spoiling your vote is being engaged, IMO. Because you've thought about it and decided none of the above suit.

I think spoiling is totally legitimate, tbh. I don't think you should vote for just anyone, if you don't think anybody deserves it.

BackToLurk · 06/06/2024 14:34

The rumour is the Greens will win it. They're going big on Gaza & Thangham is also in Labour Friends of Israel. Although she is also a 'massive terf' ©reddit

Another weird choice, unless the plan is to go after the Greens. They are genuinely bonkers on gender ideology and as you say might well take the seat.

I’m beginning to wonder if KJK is just randomly selecting constituencies beginning with B and doesn’t really know that many politicians or their positions.

MyOleMan · 07/06/2024 00:42

I don’t understand the political system. Can kjk randomly stand in any constituency? Has she moved from Brighton to Birmingham to Bristol? Is this sort of thing common with a small party?

Anyone eligible to stand can stand in any constituency as long as they have the £500 deposit and nominations from 10 people in the constituency where they plan to stand.

I believe so, yes.

It’s local councillors who need to show a connection with the area, not MP candidates.

Nominations close tomorrow. The papers have to be correctly done and checked. Then all the valid candidates are publicised by the relevant election offices.

Tbf KJK did talk about standing in Bristol against TD the day that Moyle was stood down in Brighton by Labour.

MyOleMan · 07/06/2024 06:26

So is kjk standing in Bristol or Birmingham? Why did she change her mind?

Its common in the large parties, too.

BezMills · 07/06/2024 06:36

I guess there is a bit of shuffling around in the big parties, when they are deciding which hard-working local candidates are getting bumped, so that one of the preferati can be parachuted in to get a safe seat. You can imagine the horse-trading that goes on there.

MyOleMan · 07/06/2024 07:42

Is it clear where kjk is standing? Also, does it matter? Why would she choose one place over another? (I live in UK but not from UK)

Bristol is FULL of the kinds of people who hate terfs. It's probably the biggest city for anti-terf sentiment after Brighton. I would guess she's picked it for publicity.

EffieeBriest · 07/06/2024 07:57

Yeah she’s given up on Starmer’s constituency. She’d be totally ignored, wouldn’t get a look in. In Bristol I suspect there’ll be a big push back against her and probably lots of negative publicity (she hopes) directed at progressives and TRAs when they kick off.
@SinnerBoy are you in a position that the state of the UK doesn’t affect you ? Fwiw I’m gender critical but the way this lot have governed, they really don’t deserve to win.
