Will he be deploying the 'fascist baby shouters', do we think?

Ginnyweasleyswand · 23/05/2024 14:30

Good luck to her, we need people speaking the truth. Labour and the Tories are the same awfulness. I hope she does well, especially against LRM of aggressively intimidating Miriam Cates fame.

Ginnyweasleyswand · 23/05/2024 14:30

Slightly disappointed she's not going up against Keir Starmer, I have to say, but am sure she has a good reason for this decision.

Same. But maybe as leader she would get less chance to appear on a platform with him? Or location?

TooBigForMyBoots · 23/05/2024 14:35

Good on her.Grin

SinnerBoy · 23/05/2024 14:35

Yes, good luck to her! She won't stand for any of his deranged, fact free tantrums; the hustings could be popcorn central! He'll probably have an aneurysm!

With a bit of luck...

BoreOfWhabylon · 23/05/2024 14:41

Well SinnerBoy, she does say that's why she's doing it. She isn't expecting to win but it will be glorious to see her taking him on!

Yes, she says she's not going to put up with his misogyny!

artant · 23/05/2024 14:55

Makes a lot more sense than standing against Kier Starmer. I can’t imagine he’ll be spending much time in his own constituency.

teawamutu · 23/05/2024 14:57

I've just donated to POW per KJK's ask to make sure she's got the deposits she needs. Just saying...

There should be some excellent YouTube viewing coming out of this.

LRM is utterly obnoxious, and KJK is excellent at remaining calm in the face of obnoxiousness. You may all remember this example:

Woman billboard was 'transphobic' and 'dangerous'

A giant poster quoting a Google dictionary definition of the word 'woman' has been removed from a wall in Liverpool. The poster read: “Woman, women, noun, adu...

I hope KJK gets plenty of opportunities to eviscerate the loathsome gentleman on a public platform.

GenericMNwoman · 23/05/2024 15:29

Well she definitely has at least one vote here!

Yes, that is one of my favourite things, thank you for bringing it out - I hope it gets seen by more people in the run up to the election :)

Fabulous news.

Oops forgot my words!

Bring it on!!

Crouton19 · 23/05/2024 15:40

Erk, his constituency is rainbow central. He is going to have to be a good sport to not let his temper show, and KJ will need to be the epitome of reasonableness in the face of what I expect will be a hostile campaign to try to paint her as anti-trans. I would love to have seen someone like Julie Bindel stand there.

I'll pop over and buy a hoodie or t-shirt to help the deposit fund.

SapphosRock · 23/05/2024 15:41

Wow Brighton Kemp Town is an ambitious constituency, I can't think of many places with more trans activists.

19May2024 · 23/05/2024 15:43

I'm concerned that her loss will be paraded as evidence that the public disagree with her.

Good choice, then. Lots of publicity. As ever, 'Let them speak' does more work than any feminist ever could.

TinselAngel · 23/05/2024 16:18

The Brighton Soc Fems will be apoplectic.

TERFCat · 23/05/2024 16:21

Who is expected to win this seat?

RebelliousCow · 23/05/2024 16:30

She's probably chosen this constituency on purpose - for maximum publicity effect. I'm sure she doesn't expect to even come close to winning.
