I think people need to be realistic about what is possible, especially with law as it is
The French processing idea is not going to happen, no major party is suggesting it. The main reason why is likely due to the sheer volume of people moving to the processing location and trying. We’re also not going to offer safe passage, it’s really not in the picture for any country.
Also it helps to look at the direction of other comparable countries - the EU, US, Aus. As the borders there get more hardline it re routes the flow of people.
Aus has been tough for a while but others will start to follow.
Currently people are leaving U.K. to Ireland on their own accord, of course not great for Ireland but that’s the impact
No one can take out trafficking networks, they are funded, huge and likely state backed originating in countries such as Iraq, it’s a mistake to propose it as a possibility.
So your options are limited, with international law as it is. It’d be good if we could get some weight and discussion on all this for people to get more of an understanding. This trafficking issue plus climate crisis is the biggest incoming thing we’ll face. If you look at projections you’ll see why.
