I shared a meme on FB, about not supporting trans women in female sports.

A male friend of mine, who is a GP, commented that trans women are real women 🙄 I replied that trans women are men, and that my gripe was men in women’s sports, and men (rapists like Karen White), being housed in female prisons.

He then said that he knew lots of trans men, who just wanted to live a peaceful life, and I’m thinking well yes, because they are actually biologically female!

He then went on to quote all manner of statistics about violence from men against trans women and how trans women are at more risk of violence than cis women (I hate that term). and how cis women are more likely to be attacked by cis men than trans women.

It’s been annoying me all day. Here is another male telling me what to think, but also, whether the violence comes from normal men against trans women (who are men), or trans women against real women, this is essentially a male violence problem.

Because, we as women, aren’t the perpetrators in any of this. So men, stay in your own lane and sort out all your shit. You don’t get to throw the men you don’t like into our lane (bathrooms and prisons), and make us your collateral damage.

If a fox said that it felt like it was a chicken, you wouldn’t let it sleep in the chicken coup, just in case it was lying.

I may not have articulated this in the best way!

Please show us where you get that “FACT” (are you 12 btw?) from?

Let’s assume it’s true though. How do you segregate those men who’ve had their balls off and penis inverted from the men who haven’t (and will never bother)?

How do you separate India Willoughby from Barbie Kardashian (assuming either ‘passed’ in real life)?

Ever met any on let women talk? What about the ones that rape women? Don't they count in your mythical world.

Except it does, because the "rights" of transwomen in particular to use the spaces of their preferred gender means that lots of women will then either be uncomfortable, or actually EXCLUDED from those spaces, such as orthodox Jewish or Muslim women, or women who have been the victim of sexual abuse/assault.
The "rights" of transwomen cannot co-exist with the rights of women who want single sexed spaces. It just can't.

The rights of natal men should not supercede the rights of women in such cases.

How about the "rights" of transwomen to participate in women's sports? Does that not affect the women who have to participate with them in an unfair and unbalanced scenario where they have no hope of winning, where their sponsorship and medal opportunities are taken away from them and where a male has taken the place of a female who has trained all her life for an opportunity which has now been given to a male?

How about the "rights" of transwomen to be on a female hospital ward, prison or refuge, which now means that as well as a lot of uncomfortable females, some females are now at risk of violence. This HAS HAPPENED - sexual assaults in hospital wards and known rapists being housed with female inmates. Does that not affect those women?

Honestly, what "rights" do you want for them that they don't already have?

And why can't you see that many times, their "rights" mean that a woman, somewhere, is probably affected by it.

And until 5 minutes ago, any man that entered the women’s toilets or changing rooms, could be assumed to have no good reason to be in there and be challenged and removed. Good men stayed out so bad men stood out.

It really isn’t difficult.

Why do you want to make it easier for predatory men to enter facilities for women, by breaking down the social contract around single sex spaces?

Single sex spaces mean that any man entering a female facility will be immediately noticed as transgressing. He runs the risk of anyone observing taking action, immediately on entering the facility women there will know he's potentially a threat and have more chance to take action. And so on.

Making facilities mixed sex by default means none of that can happen.

They do. In the female prison estate.

Violent male sex offenders. Incarcerated with vulnerable women (80% of Scottish female prisoners have suffered a previous head injury, mainly due to domestic violence).
