I shared a meme on FB, about not supporting trans women in female sports.

A male friend of mine, who is a GP, commented that trans women are real women 🙄 I replied that trans women are men, and that my gripe was men in women’s sports, and men (rapists like Karen White), being housed in female prisons.

He then said that he knew lots of trans men, who just wanted to live a peaceful life, and I’m thinking well yes, because they are actually biologically female!

He then went on to quote all manner of statistics about violence from men against trans women and how trans women are at more risk of violence than cis women (I hate that term). and how cis women are more likely to be attacked by cis men than trans women.

It’s been annoying me all day. Here is another male telling me what to think, but also, whether the violence comes from normal men against trans women (who are men), or trans women against real women, this is essentially a male violence problem.

Because, we as women, aren’t the perpetrators in any of this. So men, stay in your own lane and sort out all your shit. You don’t get to throw the men you don’t like into our lane (bathrooms and prisons), and make us your collateral damage.

And because of them, female people should be shamed for discussing their needs for single sex spaces, have terms like 'transphobic' used against them, and have to consider appeals to emotion so that some male people can use female people in female single sex spaces for their own security based on no statistics or studies based on the UK at all. All because, you personally, know some nice people.

By the way, I know lots of 'nice' people who are males of all ages. Doesn't mean that any group of male people should be accessing female single sex spaces set up to safeguard female people. Life doesn't work like that and I am rather surprised to see a number of posters continue to post to the contrary.

I have encountered
1 transman, 1 transwoman through work, 1 transwoman through a sport I play (on the ladies team) and another transwoman who was on the same hospital bay as a relative. They suggested the HCA didn't close the curtain so that everyone could see their bits..in tact male bits.

Even the effing Gender Recognition Act refers to "male" and "female" as "genders", FFS.

Needless to say it fails to define any of these terms.

There will have been a team of legislative drafters who sat round a table, discussed how to define their terms, concluded that they couldn't do so without it being obvious that the whole thing was a load of fucking nonsense, and decided to just omit that section and hope no one noticed it didn't make any sense.
