ScarletPimpernel · 29/04/2024 16:44

Crikey!

MurielThrockmorton · 29/04/2024 16:46

Not read the Cass report then (or possibly any newspaper since it was published!)

PhDinaseive · 29/04/2024 16:46

Oh dear. The Lib Dem's are fully against women's rights. Where is she standing

SpringCalling · 29/04/2024 16:46

HelloWorld68 · 29/04/2024 16:48

That is a shocking reply. Ignorant. Yes the questions were slightly blunt. I have been led to believe that politicians support their constituents, so personal examples might have been better.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/04/2024 16:53

It's juvenile, but OK. Penis-tone.

If she's standing for public office she should be able to cope with questions from constituents.
She really shouldn't be insulting the public
And she shouldn't be doing the online equivalent of sticking her fingers in her ears.

PronounssheRa · 29/04/2024 16:55

On Twitter, she is boasting about spending the morning blocking transphobes.

FFS.

Bloody hell

That was my initial reaction too; you beat me to it, word for word. Nothing else to say really.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/04/2024 16:57

Has nobody explained to these people that if elected they have to represent and work with all their constituents, not just the ones they agree with? Also, you can get nothing done at all if you don't get elected.

OMG! That did make me guffaw, missed that completely!! Hahaha

Her response is so arrogant and condescending! LibDems and Greens are totally captured by gender ideology, no woman or man who respects women should vote for either of these parties. Absolute disgrace!

JustSpeculation · 29/04/2024 17:11

That's Miriam Cates constituency.

Kelta · 29/04/2024 17:12

DS1 is a lib dem member and is active in the party (although he is GC). He agrees with most of their policies (mores than he agrees with the conservative or labour position) but not their stance on gender ideology. He says its incredibly difficult since if someone asked him the question his understanding is that he has to repeat the party's position. It is very much not his personal position. I told him he should probably say "the party's position is x. My personal view is y" but he thinks he would be asked to leave the party if he did this. I suspect he's not the only person who feels like this.

This woman is doubling down though and has clearly abandoned critical thought..

Oh well.

lonelywater · 29/04/2024 17:17

I have a (very) small modicum of sympathy for people like this. Unlike the rest of us, these people are at a major disadvantage by virtue of believing batshit mental stuff. This means their awareness of, and relationship to reality is tangential, at best. Added to which they have had things entirely their own way since, forever, so to suddenly discover that the gig is up and apart from the fully certified nobody is buying the Koolaid any more. This must a dreadful shock to them and will take time to digest and take on board. Poor lambs.

Well, just entirely, she shouldn't be so nasty and dismissive towards a constituent. She doesn't seem to be a member of the Reality Based Community, does she? I wonder if any complaint can be made about her and her sneering reply?

If nothing else, I wonder if HelloWorld68 should forward the exchange to the Daily Mail? This sort of thing is catnip to them.

DialSquare · 29/04/2024 17:20

WTF. I'd be fuming if I received that response to perfectly legitimate questions. My contempt for people like her holds no bounds.

GrimDamnFanjo · 29/04/2024 17:22

They really are a disgrace. Liberty and equality all the way unless you are a woman. Bness Ludford must be sick of them.
