Yousaf out - we can safely blame the association with the greens AKA hate laws, and trans agenda, for SNP collapse

The trans agenda is so alien to the way that most people think (ie most people are in touch with biological, material and ontological reality) that any policies based on it tend to shatter at first contact with the voter.

Scotland was in many ways the birthplace of the western european enlightenment. Scotland has a truly admirable and extraordinary intellectual history. I always knew that the Scots would see this shower of idiots off eventually. Basically - Scots are too clever to put up with the idea for long that the bepenised can don a dress and get into women's sports.

WomenStuff · 29/04/2024 09:29

I always feel as if there are a disproportionate number of Scottish women amongst the really insightful posters on FWR!

fromorbit · 29/04/2024 09:34

Congrats to the women and sensible men of Scotland who have taken down two First Ministers who deny sex exists. Wonder if the politicians will notice the trend and take heed. Where Scotland leads others will follow.

Signalbox · 29/04/2024 09:35

There's a definite pattern of emerging in relation to political organisations that become enthralled by trans ideology. It seems to eventually break them and it makes them appear absurd. Labour really should take note.

So farewell Humza,
You were a bit shit, well a lot shit to be frank,
Rapist isn't a gender,
You aren't any clever,
Given your scooter antics,
When someone says don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out,
You should probably take that literally and check,
Hate crime bill on April fools day,
Sums you up perfectly,
Authoritarian middle management halfwit,
Criminalising people in their own homes,
Go see if there are any spare campervans lying around,
Try not to get caught,
Join the circus,
You've completed all the clown training,
Remembered not as a towering statesman,
But as a painful joke,
A low point,
Scotland can only get better from here,
None of this rhymes,
It's still more than you deserve.

PurpleSparkledPixie · 29/04/2024 09:39

Last week, Yousaf abruptly ended a power-sharing agreement between his Scottish National Party (SNP) and the Green Party,
Why did he do that? Surely you end such an agreement after a general election if you've won enough seats, not before.

Depending on who is the next leader of the SNP, and therefore FM, they may need to take down another one. Or two.

It only gets easier after the first two. The heroes of Scotland will take them down if needed just by speaking their minds.

Considering most of the SNP and Labour were fully supportive of self ID last year, is this going to be the biggest collective reverse ferreting we’ve seen?

crumpet · 29/04/2024 10:49

What is interesting though is the suggestion that the Greens may after all have some influence if their approval is in effect needed to support the selection of the new FM to try and keep the SNP in power for the government vote of NC.

maltravers · 29/04/2024 11:00

Is it correct that none of the Greens was personally elected, Harvie, Slater etc are in under some sort of PR system? And yet they seem to be running the government…

yes
None of the greens have an actual seat, they are all elected under the additional member system.
The greens get a certain number of seats under this system. The greens then choose internally who sits as those additional members. Given the additional members are chosen by the party it's not possible to vote them out for ordinary voters. e.g. Harvie and Slater cannot be voted out for as long as the greens get two additional member seats. The only way to get rid of them is for the ordinary voters to not vote for the greens to the point where they don't get the additional seats under the PR system.

duc748 · 29/04/2024 11:21

It reached the point where I was almost starting to feel sorry for him. The sheer ineptness... I thought surely he must be thinking, I can do without all this. Probably much like Jeremy Corbyn. Go back to your allotment, or whatever.

I had never seen that

Dineasair · 29/04/2024 12:23

I wasn’t sure about this post but then I thought, what the hell, I’m going to have my say.

The Scottish Government were told that Scottish women wouldn’t wheesht, they didn’t listen, and the SNP and Greens have both paid the price. Labour backed them to the hilt, voting for both the GRR and the Hate Crime laws and we won’t forget that.

I have been the tiniest of cogs in what is growing to be a very large wheel, but even the tiny part I’ve played has saved my sanity, and I’m a near seventy year old granny who has never been involved in any kind of activism before the gender stuff. It’s been a great joy to stand shoulder to shoulder with young, vibrant and very angry women, and they give me such hope.
I am in awe of women like JKR, Joanna Cherry, Lucy Blackburn, Johan Lamont, Ash Reagan, Helen Joyce and all the other magnificent women warriors who have been on the frontlines of this fight, and it is a fight.

I have said this elsewhere but I will say it again, Celtic women are a fierce mix that includes Pict, Briton and Viking, our ancestors were warrior women, defenders of the home and of our children. We are defiant and we won’t sit down, we won’t shut up and we will never, ever give up.

The stupid politicians should remember that women like K J Keen, Maya Forstater, Keira Bell, Julie Bindel and all the other wonderful frontline warrior women fighting for the safety of women and children in England, are the daughters of a country that gave the world Boudicca, and the pushers of this ideology aren’t the Romans, however much they would like to be.

I know that some of you don’t like such an adversarial approach but it really has felt that we are fighting a war in Scotland and it’s a war that we have to win, for the sake of our children and our grandchildren.

That’s bloody outrageous 😮

Great post @Dineasair

midgetastic · 29/04/2024 12:38

It's not outrageous- it's a natural consequence of trying to have a so old but slightly fairer system than the uk one where by a government with less than 40% of the vote has an overwhelming majority
