Here is screenshot of tweet Rainbow Greens reposted

The Scottish Greens are revolting
ArabellaScott · 19/04/2024 13:40

'social murder', now.

'#Cass threw out 100+ internationally peer reviewed studies and is already being used to justify banning gender affirming care in Scotland I've had friends who died on waiting lists, I know social murder when I see it.'

from the Rainbow Greens co-convener. (A transwoman).

'The Scottish Greens are facing a revolt from LGBT members of the party furious at the NHS’s decision to pause the prescription of puberty blockers for new patients.

Rainbow Greens suggested that co-leaders Patrick Harvie and Lorna Slater – who are also government ministers – could abandon their deal with the SNP.

The group, which represents LGBT members of the party, claimed the Scottish Government “does not care about the welfare or rights of transgender people in Scotland”.'

The Greens have always used the knowledge that if they leave, the SNP will lose power because the SNP don't have a majority on their own.
But the threat of leaving can't work now - the SNP are dead in the water already. Sturgeon's husband has been charged with embezzlement; the Hate Crime Biil has made a laughing. stock of bungling Humza AND Scotland; perhaps it's time to realise that appeasing LGBT members of the Green Party is not a vote winner when it comes to dishing out puberty blockers to children.

IcakethereforeIam · 19/04/2024 21:33

Fancy demanding the right to mistreat children or you'll leave. I'm staggered.

ArabellaScott · 19/04/2024 21:39

Interestingly, Harvie, Slater, and Greer have all been condemned by activists, for prioritising power over purity. It's all cracking up by the looks of it.

I don't see how Humza could possibly give in to their demands. By stopping pb and wrong sex hormones for children the Scottish NHS have acknowledged the harm. Having done that they can't u-turn, it would look little short of criminal. The tras will be delighted, everyone else will be horrified.

ArabellaScott · 19/04/2024 21:51

Shoogly peg is not really what you want in a government. Previous CEO charged with embezzlement, coalition party falling out all over the place, current First Minister now famous for a Hate Crime Act that he has been the main accused of.

I feel like someone needs to sort it all out, but there isn't anyone.

How would he do that? Over-rule doctors and insist they prescribe a drug which isn’t licenced for that use?

IcakethereforeIam · 19/04/2024 23:15

That did cross my mind while I was typing my post. Does he even have the authority to make them use a discredited treatment? The whole thing seems very performative. I wonder what bone the Greens will settle for so they can back down without losing face?

Although fingers crossed that they DFOTTFSOFTFOSM.

It’s all a bit Truman Show if written by Armando Iannuci

It looks like the members will be voting on power sharing now so it could all change

I believe this is what behaviourists call an extinction curve. When unwanted behaviour is no longer rewarded the perpetrator tries harder and harder with that same behaviour before eventually understanding that there is no reward forthcoming anymore and so (hopefully) stops.

PrimalLass · 20/04/2024 08:47

There should have been no coalition with a party that got less than 5% of the overall vote. It's not democratic in any way.

Victoria Smith's email newsletter this morning was explaining why as mainstream push back against the gender nonsense gets more reasonable and grounded, the reactions get more extreme. Interesting to see exactly what she was describing playing out in real time.

I'd link to it but it's on something called a Stack which is beyond me. She's glosswitch on X so easy to find. One of the best pieces I've read in ages.

Thanks for the tip.

I found it here.

Every mother knows this is how you treat toddlers. Praise the good, ignore the bad.

When they push against boundaries, hold the boundary firm for their own safety. It's basic parenting.

I don’t know, their rent control policies have been successful at increasing rent faster than anywhere else in the UK

ArabellaScott · 20/04/2024 22:09

Yep. When you look at the missed opportunities- for nationalising renewables, say - its absolutely galling that they pissed away the opportunities on crap like the deposit return scheme and bloody genderism I don't know quite how they managed it when the electorate would probably have been broadly supportive of many green policies.

Election year is shaping up well. SNP panicking about losing votes perhaps.

Wales back pedalling on 20mph disaster.

I'm beginning to hate him but it's not a crime. Remember in the early 2000s when it seemed actually cool that we had these three maverick MSPs in the first SP? (Dennis Canavan , Tommy Sheridan and Harvey)

Harvey has been a big let down, shame
