KjK "insane rant" thread 2

AdamRyan · 03/04/2024 18:10

First thread filled up just as it was getting interesting

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5036512-kjks-insane-rant

So let's keep it going. My characterisation if the two basic positions are:

1)KJK is a stone cold legend, haters gonna hate but many women will give her cash to bathe in champagne

  1. KJK is taking right wing positions for clicks and cash, most recently criticising a doctors conference to stay relevant.

Happy to discuss further. There are some particular posts I want to respond to which I will c&p below

KJK’s insane rant | Mumsnet

Kjk’s decision to attack everyone who is not her lapdog is increasingly destructive. It looks like Can-sg put on a great conference. Those doctors who...

This thread just gets more polarised and more insane each time I come back 🙃
Its very clear at this point that those on the far left will view anything centrist or slightly right wing, as far right at this point.
No one calls it far right when Japan has policies against mass immigration, but the second it's brought up re; western countries it's a massive far right talking point for some reason.

EDIT; Hit enter by mistake before I was finished typing.

Also fwiw (this is not me declaring my opinion, just something I thought was interesting);
"That's interesting. If (hypothetically) it turned out she was funded by fascists - Nazis - would you care then? Or as long as you get what you want, it's okay?"

Non-hypothetically, actual real life Nazi's were involved heavily with NASA. Not funding, but actual brain power.
Nobody really pipes up about that ever :S
Hell the only reason I know about it is because my DH told me!

The UK doesn't even have any policies against mass immigration! That's what makes me fume! The Tories are doing a trade deal with India that will involve even more visas. Under the Tories immigration has soared.

What the Tories are doing (and the even further right") is to act like "illegal immigration" is the problem. Because they don't want to admit what "low immigration" in a UKcontext means.

But immigration is irrelevant to KJK. Unless you now want to bring her other views into it.

I think right wingers are now asserting their "right not to be offended" if people question their views.

It’s a crap tactic but it’s been stolen from the Identitarian/Authoritarian-Left.

SpicyMoth · 09/04/2024 19:21

"Under the Tories immigration has soared."
I'm not in disagreement with you there, I'm sure I read somewhere a few months back that immigration has quadrupled since Brexit which seems ironic.

My point was more than talk of lower immigration levels of any kind is typically met with "Well you're right wing to think that, so just don't like foreigners" except for in places such as Japan where it's very much not met with that response.

Also the Tories bringing in laws and legislating re; gender identity etc as was mentioned earlier in the thread seems to me to be more evidence that conservatives have become more left wing, not more right wing.

As does the "right not to be offended" stuff.
As @KellieJaysLapdog says, that's very much been adopted from the left as well.
Tories have adopted a lot of left wing politics over the years and Labour have adopted a lot of TRA-esque identity politics over the years imo - which to me at least, reflects that things are moving further left overall rather than right or even "far right".

A very clear example of what the cartoon above is saying. Even the supposed “right wing” party is supporting mass immigration.

That is pretty hilarious. More left wing since when?

Theresa May wanted to remove medical gatekeeping for transition

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/society/2017/oct/18/theresa-may-plans-to-let-people-change-gender-without-medical-checks

Boris Johnson started to row back on this; Truss and Sunak have gone further.

So the Conservatives have moved right on this issue since 2019 - and a number of others (immigration, removing the right to protest etc).

Still not relevant to the point as to whether it's reasonable to describe KJK as having links to the far right. Although I guess if one thinks the Conservative government have "moved left", one may have an unusual take on what "far right" means.

yes have a look at KJKs website here
https://www.partyofwomen.org/

Apparently there's been an issue registering the party with the Electoral Commission - the application has been knocked back twice. Below is a statement from the EC after the second time:

"A spokesperson for the Electoral Commission said: “We refused the Party of Women’s application to register as a political party as the constitution and financial scheme were not compliant with the law.
“The constitution was not consistent with the party’s financial scheme, and the financial scheme was not properly adopted.”
They added: “The Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (PPERA) sets out criteria that parties must meet in order to register.
“If an application meets those tests, the Commission must register the party.
“The decision to accept or reject an application is always based on these criteria, and never personal or political views.”

I'm not exactly sure of the point you're trying to make here. This was a long time ago. We had no agency then. We do now - to a degree. We can make different choices.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/04/2024 03:26

Who is "we"? Who do you think would make a different choice? I fear you might be a little optimistic.

All of us, Eresh. And, yes, I fear I might be too optimistic too, given the responses I've received here.

What is such a problem with being aware to these things? It's a cliché, but knowledge is power. You can't do anything without awareness in the first instance.

She is registered:

https://search.electoralcommission.org.uk/English/Registrations/PP17545

But she must now be admitting men as members for that to be the case

You must ensure that your constitution and how your party operates complies with equalities law. In particular, you should ensure that your constitution does not unduly discriminate against persons with protected characteristics from becoming party members. Otherwise, your constitution will not be lawful and your application will be refused.

Kellie is aware of this thread and was hoping someone would call in to TERF Talk to discuss some of the accusations levelled at her in person.

Shame no one did.

Oh. Maybe as a go between you can post her responses on her behalf. I have no desire to push up her clicks by going on her channel thanks.

Paul Duddridge who left Annabel Giles when their baby was 2 weeks old, stopped financially supporting him at 9 years old and then filed a lawsuit for defamation against Annabel before she died of cancer last year.

What a lovely chap.

But you do have a desire to forensically go through everything that KJ has ever said, plus all of her funders and backers, day after day after day, so that you can be performatively outraged about them?

Surely it’d put a lot of these unanswered questions to bed if you would only ask them?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/04/2024 10:22

All of us, Eresh. And, yes, I fear I might be too optimistic too, given the responses I've received here.

Thankfully the women on this thread who you disapprove of for not being pure enough in their political affiliations aren't in charge of NASA, so it's not really a great comparison, is it. And if you think modern politics and industry is any more principled, on any side, you're extremely naive.
