A post on that thread

Dr Christine McGinn who has performed “about 20” vaginoplasties on males under the age of 18.

https://drchristinemcginn.com/drmcginn/

But surgery never happens on minors…

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/03/2024 16:28

Susie Green's son, famously, as well.

ForCoralFox · 07/03/2024 16:28

This is in America.

There are instances of bad practice in all areas of medicine.

I think you are confusing ideology/religion/magical thinking with medicine.

So are you saying you think that operations on the genitals of minors are wrong outside of a medical crisis?

ForCoralFox · 07/03/2024 16:29

There is no suggestion that the boy in the clip will have surgery before the age of 18.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/03/2024 16:29

WPATH is an international organisation.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/03/2024 16:31

There is no boy in the clip. That fictional girl may have a double mastectomy. Most girls don't have more than that, but some do. There is also an adult male in the clip.

I'm not a doctor so I wouldn't comment on that. I would imagine generally not but maybe in some cases, depending on the specifics of the case.

Helleofabore · 07/03/2024 16:24

The WPATH leaks are a nothing burger.

This ideology is bizarre to me.

Oh, dear. Hollyoaks are getting questioned because the actor playing Rose may not actually be trans. The humanity!

Anyone would think they didn't know what "acting" is.

This is as creepy as hell . . . and TBH as that young actress's parents, I would not have wanted my child touched by "Kitty" even on her shoulders, even as part of the role, even while being chaperoned by an entire production crew. It just sends the wrong message to my jaundiced eye.

I'm not saying "Kitty" or the person who plays "Kitty" is in any way untoward or in any way a danger in themselves - but the scene is normalising a boundary being crossed that shouldn't be.

If a double mastectomy is what he decides to do, I hope that the surgery is available at the appropriate time without him being subject to the distress of a long waiting list.

I assume complaints should be aimed at Ofcom?

It was bad writing (I mean, Hollyoaks) but, she said the child needed to stop truanting and tell mum before doing anything else. So, the opposite of "don't tell your parents." She then went straight home and told her parents.

What did the parents say? I hope you watched it so I don't have to 😄

Glad to see you correctly sexed this child, btw

There is an awful lot to read, so not all of them, but that article helps explain why they don't say what the far-right editorialiser says they say.

They certainly don't seem to have troubled the media, outside of the usual suspects.

I know me too, imagine thinking it is ever the right choice to castrate a boy who has gender confusion.

Grim.

Hands on shoulders? Are you actually serious?

I actually feel sorry for you all. From browsing this forum you all seem constantly distressed by perfectly normal everyday interactions, are permanently afraid and see everything as sinister. It must be an exhausting way to live.

A little less exhausting than a life of continuous medication, surgical mutilations and the serious health fall out from that. The callousness of your approach towards a confused young person is noted.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/03/2024 16:38

Big lolz at Dadjoke's "source". Whether TRAs call them a "nothingburger", they are, like this Hollyoaks scene, quite shocking to people not buried deep in genderism.

Accepting someone's identity and supporting their transition is not callous.

Well, I would apologise for getting the pronouns wrong, but fictional character.

I can do better than tell you:

https://twitter.com/Hollyoaks/status/1765459332735373754

What we don't get is their reaction, but I am not willing to watch any more.

Then we get a bunch of idiot responders confusing "I am a boy because I have short hair" with "I've cut my hair short because I am a boy."
