Why are separate spaces for trans people unacceptable (to trans people)?

There's a thread on AIBU about people's network's views on the trans debate and a poster suggested trans people ought to campaign for separate spaces - trans toilets, trans sporting events etc.

Is anyone campaigning for this? And if not why not? I'm not clued into the detail of the debate and am genuinely interested. Is it just impractical (cost, insufficient numbers for competitive sport) or is it ideologically unacceptable?

Change trans women to any other section of women

Ford fiestas, VW polos, Skoda Octavias, BMW 1 series are all welcome in my car repair business. Intercity 125s are not as they are trains. This is not bigotry, trains are not cars, even though they can transport you from place to place and have a engine.

Women come in all different varieties like cars but have 1 thing in common, being female. No matter how much transwomen want to be women, they never can be as they are male. Trains are trains, that's not a bad thing. Decorate the train as much as you like, stick a VW badge on the front if you like but it remains a train, just like transwomen remain men no matter how they dress. Complaining that the train can't travel along a road doesn't mean that tracks should be installed on every road to allow them to be with the cars.

@OnceinaMinion And some transwomen get off on interacting with women in general public spaces which is why I most definitely want to keep them out of womens' spaces. If they are so brazen as to engage someone in their fetish in a public place then I don't want to be behind closed doors with one of them.

I was once approached by a trans woman who worked in a supermarket. The transwoman wanted to tell me about something they offered. When I politely declined and we exchanged a few words I could tell our interaction caused the transwoman to become aroused.

I didn't shop there for two months. My husband had to go alone. He never saw the transwoman again and that is the only reason why I started shopping there again. It was obvious that I had been a prop in the transwoman's kink without my consent. ( and no, I didn't bloody imagine the transwoman's reaction. My husband noticed too. And it is an effing scandal that it usually takes me adding that detail for other women to believe me)

I was sat in an art gallery cafe with DD when a transwoman was in there, tiny skirt, plastic wig. Trotted up and down this incredibly quiet space having a very loud phone conversation and waving his hands about. DD was like ‘ is she mental?’
When we left they were sat on the steps with their legs wide open, again shouting on the phone.
I don’t think he was getting the attention he was after.

I thought of this too but didn't have a link. I remembered reading it at the time. Basically trans women can't all win if they race each other. Only one can be the winner. When they compete in female races they almost all always win.

I apologise to all the tractors that have been harmed by my post. Thank you for pointing out my error, I have educated myself and will be donating all my worldly goods to whichever tractor charity is deemed the most suitable. I will ensure I think of tractors first in everything I do for the rest of my life and will harass and threaten anyone who does not do the same.

Do you think they forget their entire lives and think they've always been female? How on earth would they remember to take the cross-sex hormones then?

Tragically, it's more likely to be the opposite way around. In dementia, later memories typically go first, so elderly male transitioners with dementia have forgotten transitioning, and been very distressed by the surgical changes to their bodies.
