There was a thread a couple of weeks about this case that got deleted. Obviously it's an ongoing trial but it's as we suspected with the defendent.

Why is the language used by the media different for a transman?

This case uses trans/transgender Paedophile/Paedo in the headlines. As Coral/Ryan Scott appears to have been born female. Why can’t they do the same for TW?

Yes, Ashlynn is male. Scarlet claims Ashlynn's.sperm was on the jacket which Scarlet wore the night Jorges died.

Where was this reported? I haven't seen this in any of the mainstream media reports. This information must have come out in court. Why isn't it more widely reported?

Nor have I seen any photographs of Blake other than the one with the two prison officers and various stills taken from the video. Where have these photographs been published?

Yes, I recommend the Oxford Mail for comprehensive coverage. You can read all the live blogs of most of the previous days. At the moment they have just finished the case for the defence. Blake was the only witness. Blake gave evidence over two days during which time Blake being MTF was first revealed. Resuming at 12pm today.

Someone has posted a video taken of the alleged murderer ‘Scarlet’ chatting to some police (I think). No fear I would mistake him for a woman. I seem to have superhuman abilities, though. We’re to believe that most people have no idea of what a woman is and would say ‘sorry, madam’ if they bumped into an empty chair.

If Scarlet is found guilty, at least he'll go to a male prison. If the crime had been committed in Scotland, it's possible, as it didn't involve violence against a woman, he'd be assessed as not posing an 'unacceptable risk' and sent to a women's prison. Although as he's trans and the crime was committed before his 25th birthday, he'd possibly just get a slap on the wrist. Scotgov are also introducing, or have introduced, laws restricting any reporting on crimes committed by children, though I don't know the age cut off. Possibly, in Scotland, we'd know nothing about this crime.

The DM makes not a single reference to Scarlet being male in that article. Just 'woman', all the way through.

Although some way down the story, in a large font and a bright colour, are the words "READ MORE: Murder accused who was obsessed with torture and violence and inspired to kill by the Netflix documentary 'Don't F* with Cats is transgender and would sometimes identify as a feline and meow if happy, court hears"

Given that the words " 'torture-obsessed' woman accused of Don't F* with Cats-inspired murder" occur in the headline to the story, I think the DM is trying to drop a heavy hint.

The DM would not be breaking any laws by simply saying 'he', would they? So why don't they do it? I mean, I get why the Guardian would say 'she', even though I strongly disagree, but the Mail?

That video. His voice, Adam’s apple and size scream male. I can hear another male voice in the background. Both people speaking to him about his needs are women, being nice.
