Lesbian members club to only allow biological women

"A FEMINIST campaigner is to open the UK’s first lesbian members bar that will only allow biological women to join.

The bar, named the L Community, is due to open in London later this year and will operate as a private members club so that it can bar trans women.

The bar has been set up by Jenny Watson, who in September last year was at the centre of a transphobia row after she insisted only “adult human females” could attend the lesbian speed-dating events she had organised."

Funny that La Camionera has had such a seemingly strong start given the folk here who tell us the reason lesbian spaces are rarer is because of trans people and people who identify as queer.

Hadn't actually heard about it (a bit beyond my Dalston years by now...) until now but will need to check it out. Unfortunately, La Camionera is also likely to face significant struggles to survive.

Look, if you're losing this much sleep about women-only spaces not being financially viable have a bake sale or start a crowd fund or something.

The owner didn’t reveal their trans status until AFTER the launch, don’t you think that’s kinda odd?

Anyway, I guess we’ll see what’s most popular/which has most longevity as things unfold in real time? A female-only lesbian private members club or a trans tapas cafe that identifies as a lesbian bar for anyone who feels like they belong in a lesbian bar.

Let’s see how long it lasts I guess.

The thing that worries the men, straight and trans-identifying, is that middle-aged Karens will be at Jenny's club and will tell the young Lesbians plainly and vigorously that they don't owe transwomen nor any men sex!

It's easy for straight and bisexual female "trans allies" to throw lesbians under the bus because we can carry on dating men if lesbianism is forced underground and suppressed. And we have every motive to do so: fear for our own safety from violent TRAs.

It is hard to show solidarity with lesbians, but we must: for them, because their very existence as a sexual minority and their right to freedom from sexual coercion is at stake; and for ourselves, because when violent people can use threats to dictate our actions, we are no longer free.

Dennis Kavanagh is a very sound, as well as clever, human being. He seems to always know the right thing to say or do. He's not a virtue signaller but always speaks up when needed, and not just around LGB matters. His stance on anti semitism has been gutsy and appreciated.

It's likely to be in Southwark.

Tat hell is such a hypocrite; all those years carving out acceptance and places for gay men, and mewing about a space for lesbians. He should be put out to pasture

I'm not on Twitter, and these days, it only lets you see one tweet, you don't even get to see a whole thread. So I can only see a bit.

But how blinkered does Tatchel have to be, even after all these years of women explaining, that he still can't understand the difference between women entering a men's space, and men entering a woman's space? Especially if it's sexually motivated.

Would he feel the same way if transmen entered his gay male space, who were 7 feet tall, all twice as strong as him, were sexually aggressive and massively entitled, viewing his disinterest as something to overcome with intimidation tactics if necessary? Or violence.
