What is your definition of lesbian? What does it mean to you and your like minded peers to say "we are lesbian"?
I was peaked by lesbians I work with, who hate the rainbow lanyards and were genuinely scared by the "cotton ceiling" stuff and the takeover of lesbian bars, groups and dating apps by men.
I'm not gay, but I work with and have women in my family who are, and they all distance themselves from Pride and rainbow stuff because they feel it doesn't represent them at all.
They are responsible for my terven thoughts.
It's interesting that there is no one in your wider peer group who ever speaks against any of it. Is that because of genuine uniformity of approach do you think, or is there the possibility that they don't feel able to say anything for fear of being cast out?
