Why has Miriam Cates suddenly gone under investigation? The comments in The Times are usually highly supportive of the MPs that speak out against Gender Ideology but they're properly railing against her. What has been her downfall?

The Gestapo in action again? She's spoken against gender ideology and is a heretic, that's usually all that's required.

I had a quick scan of the comments and I think the majority are there for the Tories bashing and have no clue who Miriam Cates is.

I know who she is and I have an unfavourable opinion of her, but I obviously don't know why she's under investigation.

I'm talking about the comments under the Times article not about you @ilovesooty Most commentators there have no clue, there are quite a few "Who?" comments there.

I realise that. I agree I don't see the point of commenting if you don't know who she is though. I'm just saying that I do know who she is and her track record means her being investigated doesn't really come as a surprise to me.

I take the Mail's reporting with several pinches of salt, but if the action was in some way ideological then surely the Mail would be desperate to say so.

It does seem as if it has something to do with lockdown get-togethers at work. Honestly, this covid enquiry is retributive and McCarthyistic.

That's right. Her track record can be quite easily discovered but until there's more information available I've no idea what this particular investigation is about. What's wrong with that?

You insinuated she has form for something untoward. What would that be? From my observations she is simply a person of moral principle and conservative family oriented values.

What's "ominous" about it? Her views and her activities are on public record.
