Dating as a TERF

I'm a 34 year old female. I'm currently dating via Tinder.

When the gender issue has come up and I've mentioned that I'm a TERF, a lot of men have disengaged from me. I once went on three dates with a man, we got on great, and then when I mentioned my views on gender ideology, he ghosted me after!

Do you mention your stance up front or do you wait? I don't want to date anyone who thinks humans can change sex, is it worth stating this on my profile?

Any help/ advice/ insights appreciated.

TBF anyone who is buying into the terf slur would be too young & annoying for my interest anyway.

Linguistic style is very similar. It isn't surprising that people are connecting the dots. It's not troll-hunting, it is called critical thinking.^

I think they all just really struggle with the idea that a site called Mumsnet isn’t full of lovely supportive women who are only interested in stuff that matches feminine stereotypes, like fashion & being a carer.

And as well as bucking the stereotypes, most of us refuse to define ourselves as any kind of gender & just say that we’re women because we’re adult human females.

I would be very surprised if KM were capable of typing the words "I don't want to date a man who believes humans can change sex", even for screen shots.

I am finding the thread very informative and the Twitter discourse fairly humorous. Why should it be deleted?

The worst things on this thread have been posted by someone claiming to support trans people.

They’re the one asking for some kind of test to prove who is and isn’t trans.

What would that be? How would it work? What happens if someone who genuinely feels they are trans fails it?

That is gatekeeping and TRAs aren’t keen on that.

No one would ever design any kind of test, rigorous or not. Because TRAs would be furious and cause trouble and feminist wouldn’t give a shit whatever it proved. No matter how genuine your feelings are it doesn’t alter the fact women should have some things without men.

I think it's definitely worth mentioning. I'd be furious if I went on a few dates with somebody, felt I'd connected with them well only to then find out they are a massive bigot. Better to be up front with your views so people don't waste their time.
