I have seen Henning live a few times and get his newsletter. Not the first time he has raised this issue but he has been pretty subtle about it. Still braver than almost every other comedian.

Shahrar Ali has raised the Poulton case internally :

"Green Party has rules around obligations upon candidates for external office to disclose "anything in their personal history" that could bring party into disrepute. I've escalated concerns regarding potential breach by a candidate. Our credibility relies on it. "

Whether anything will come of it is doubtful, but it might help.

Thank you for the link to Peter Tatchell contribution on GB news. Peter was keen to point out that Melissa Poulton came to prominance due to tirelessly supporting women, specifically the 50:50 campaign to increase numbers of women in office...as though we should all be grateful for Mels contribution. Erm i would speculate that Melissa was supporting 50:50 campaign, to increase the number of Melissa Poultons in office. Not sure why anyone should be grateful for Melissa contribution to this campaign, never mind the woman she is campaigning opposite.

Plus, I'm obviously a bit troubled by reports of Melissa social media activity. Not referenced in the GB article obviously, all a bit too grubby. But I really wish news outlets would be brave enough to point directly at this issues and not be quite so dazzled by the baffoonary

Also, what are Mels green credentials? I ask in context of the eyewateringly lime leggings. They could be preowned i guess, but I suspect they are not organic cotton or ethically made.... and i dont think ive seen him in the same wig twice.

Yes, I saw him live about a year ago and he certainly was talking about it then. It may be he judged his audience well and so wasn’t too concerned about the ban hammer. Going public on Twitter is a different ball game though so not surprised he’s been a little more subtle.

I know of faculty at another university who was close to being laid off for gross misconduct because they raised an eyebrow in a meeting at something that was said. In that case, successfully defended by UCU.
