I'm wondering, even if you are a staunch lefty..... would revoking the GRC persuade you to vote conservatives?

No

TawnyT · 06/12/2023 23:05

Yes!

Ardith · 06/12/2023 23:09

Yes

oviedo · 06/12/2023 23:12

Yes

minley76 · 06/12/2023 23:15

Not a chance.

Anisette · 06/12/2023 23:27

Absolutely not.

RedDeerRunning · 06/12/2023 23:45

Yup. Always voted Labour. Hated the Tories. Would vote Tory to get rid of this shit.

rockstarshoes · 06/12/2023 23:54

No no no no!

Another 5 years of this lot & we won't care what we're called!

They have broken just about everything in this Country!

squeekychicken · 07/12/2023 00:04

Yes

QueenYnci · 07/12/2023 00:22

If they said they will repeal it? No. Not enough for me.

If they did repeal it before the election? Yes.

If they elect Kemi as leader before the election and she promises it? Probably.

Either way I'm not voting for Labour (or Lib Dem or Green) again until they've not only stopped this nonsense but admitted they got it so very wrong and should have listened to the people speaking up about this.

So it's probably independent candidates, small parties or spoiling my ballot for me.

StopTheWorld1WantToGetOff · 07/12/2023 00:38

No. There are too many other very serious issues with this government. The current attack on disabled people and further demonisation of benefit claimants while doing nothing to reduce the ever expanding inequality between the super rich and the rest of us (ie the people the super rich are getting richer and richer off the back of). Plus this government are responsible for Brexit which I can't forgive them for. I could go on...and on....

WhyMeWhyNowWhyNot · 07/12/2023 00:38

The terrifying naivety around what Tories is actually stand for is depressing beyond belief. The idea that they give a shiny shit about women would be laughable if it wasn’t so fucking offensive.

It’ll be a cold day in hell before I vote for the Tories. Never have. Never will.

RhannionKPSS · 07/12/2023 00:45

Yes

Thelnebriati · 07/12/2023 00:54

Its a fantasy. All of the current gender stuff has happened under the Tories. They enabled all of it. They gave a peerage to Ruth Hunt, they held the consultation on self ID. Penny Mordaunt said 'trans women are women' in the HOC. Maria Miller called us 'purported feminists'.

They aren't going to clarify the Equality Act and say 'sex' means biology either.

AhNowTed · 07/12/2023 00:54

Not in a million years.

I vote for the party that broadly represents my values.

I don't have to agree with every single policy or stance.

And I would never vote for a party based on a single issue. Especially when the rest of it is a total shit show run by grifters.

lordloveadog · 07/12/2023 05:57

Would they actually do it? I wouldn't trust them.

Even with a copper-bottomed guarantee, I don't think I could bring myself to.

Waxdrip · 07/12/2023 06:01

No.

Tatumm · 07/12/2023 06:13

No, based on their actions, they don’t give a shit about the rights of women or children.

ohfook · 07/12/2023 06:19

No fucking way.

CormorantStrikesBack · 07/12/2023 06:51

No. There’s far more theyve totally fucked up.

Noicant · 07/12/2023 07:19

I have always been a floating voter but I would, once womens sex based rights are destroyed it will be the new reality and will be near impossible to undo. It’s extremely hard to claw back enhanced rights to one group once they have been given. I’m firmly of the belief that once they are gone they are gone and it will affect generations of women to come, I’d have to explain that to my DD, other things were more important than her right to play other women in sport to have spaces where she feel’s safe as a woman I fervently wish she will never ever need a DV shelter or rape crisis but if she ever did I wouldn’t want her to be forced to have to swallow her distress so that she wasn’t labelled a bigot.

Do the tories generally deserve to win, no not really. Would I still vote for them to prevent Labour from trampling over women as a category yes.

Agree with your post generally but this is a major issue for women and children

anyolddinosaur · 07/12/2023 07:38

What I would like to happen is for Starmer to develop a backbone - support Rosie Duffield, consult Labour Women's declaration, clearly say that sex is not something you can change and that persuading gay children they are "born in the wrong body" is conversion therapy and homophobic. Not going to happen so I cant vote for his party. Lib Dems are a disaster, Greens as bad. I may be forced to vote in favour of reality. I held my nose and voted for Corbyn's fantasies, I wont do it for Starmer's.

Netcam · 07/12/2023 07:48

Never, whatever they do

apples24 · 07/12/2023 07:52

UK Tory party for Westminster elections - No way.

Scottish Tories for Holyrood - Yes, my local Tory MSP is very good and overall the Scottish party is also more moderate and sensible.
