It strikes me today for the first time, hearing two ministers speak out against people trying to tell them shhh, no, be kind, don't mention it, sit down....just how frightened the government of all parties is on this matter.
It is a huge relief to hear both of them today talk straight out with the facts we've been discussing here for years- against anger and people trying hard to make us stop, to scare us and bully us into silence, to call concern 'hate' and questions too traumatising and upsetting to be tolerated.
I live in hope of parties starting to split. Let's have some parties arise with actual guts to stand up to what is wrong, to political capture, to silencing people with nonsense about 'it's too upsetting and unkind to some talk about this reality and harm to others' which values some people and not others. Which sees some people as mere cannon fodder for other more special people. A mess which is never going to end well for anyone. Lets separate the witterers from those actually prepared to protect everyone's interests and find ways that work for all.
And if permitting solutions to work too for women and children is too 'traumatic' for the political trans lobby to cope with, then that's sad, but tough, and the lobby will just have to be traumatised and learn to cope with other people having rights too.
