So as the title says a biological male footballer who was allowed by the fa to play on a woman's team with the inevitable consequences for a female player has thrown his tous out of the pram because the women's teams refuse to play against him and is threatening to sue the other clubs so he can play against 16 and 17 year old girls and women

I've just seen this on the BBC news website - no mention of him breaking a woman's knee.

Well it wouldn’t surprise me. The BBC are knee deep in this woke obsession, and so are usually very biased in their reporting.

PrawnofthePatriarchy · 21/11/2023 13:21

Needham said: “I sincerely hope that this issue of perceived discrimination against me can be resolved peacefully...

Peacefully? So what's going to happen if it's not resolved peacefully? Sounds like a threat to me.

Giggorata · 21/11/2023 13:29

Yes, that's why I mentioned it. I have complained to the BBC, not that they take a blind bit of notice.

Justme56 · 21/11/2023 13:31

In different sporting news International Cricket Council are no longer allowing TW to play on women’s teams.

IcakethereforeIam · 21/11/2023 13:33

I wonder how that'll go down in Australia and New Zealand?

SinnerBoy · 21/11/2023 13:34

Bit by bit, drip drip drip. Sports bodies are at least beginning to understand why men shouldn't be able to compete with women and acting to prevent it. Soon, I hop, they will all find safety in numbers.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/11/2023 13:34

The article says that if he had dropped out Rossendale 'Ladies' wouldn't have got a game before next February!

Rossington (rossendale is in Lancashire). They should have kept to having a team of 11 women in the first place.

pronounsbundlebundle · 21/11/2023 13:41

Let's hope the insurers are paying attention. And refusing to insure clubs that allow men to compete against women. That'll sort it.

When DD was five she thought she could wriggle out of doing anything she didn't want to do by informing me that it was illegal.

😁- I like your DD's style. Future judge.

I also wonder why on earth the women on the same team put up with this. It obviously gave them an unfair advantage - were they willing to put all other considerations to one side just for the sake of having a better chance of winning?

I was wondering about that too. I imagine there was a huge amount of social pressure - maybe they had a few full on handmaidens and the rest of them were afraid to speak up.

But still though! What if other teams started recruiting men to keep up - then his teammates wouldn’t be safe from having their own bones broken any more. I always find the inability of TRAs to think about the long term consequences of what they’re doing quite astonishing. Especially when it comes to women’s sports, where it’s so obvious.

HagoftheNorth · 21/11/2023 13:47

The position that some sporting bodies, inc the FA is so clearly ludicrous. The sport is segregated by sex - except when it isn’t.

<I’m still reeling from being told by England Hockey that it’s fine to let special men play in women’s teams because ‘players come in all shapes, sizes and abilities’ 😱>

chutneysauce · 21/11/2023 13:49

I play football and as a much younger woman, we did have a transgender female in our team. It was an issue at first and players did complain, not about the fact that it was completely unfair which it was) but they felt uncomfortable in the changing rooms. However there was nothing they could do about it so we got on with it and did get used to it.
The player did face a lot of abuse every single week and we did actually get quite defensive

chutneysauce · 21/11/2023 13:51

Oops pressed post before I'd finished...

We did get defensive for any abuse she would face and stick up for her.

I have to agree though we were at a quite big advantage at times due to her strength. I used to hate training at her especially when I was in goal and she would smash the ball at me very hard from very close range. I did hate that and refused to go in goal against her after that.

IcakethereforeIam · 21/11/2023 13:52

Sorry @ErrolTheDragon that was me ✋️, mis-countying they/them. I forgot the Telegraph link too and there was a least one bad typo. I'll try to do better.

The players want to play in a womens match and dont perceive their opponent to be a woman.

What he is demanding is that the law forces others to believe he is a woman. With the help of the government and institutions he can get legal recognition, but can governments, the law and football association get the population to believe?

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 21/11/2023 14:01

I wonder if it was because you knew as a team you had an unfair advantage? You traded your own saftey when training for an advatage when playing, so were defensive about the criticism?

PuttingDownRoots · 21/11/2023 14:05

@chutneysauce so you didn't want to play against them, but defended them playing to other people who didn't want them playing... dont you see that as hypocritical?

Justme56 · 21/11/2023 13:31

Your one who’s been playing for Kent won’t be happy… (interesting, incidentally, that they supposedly don’t want to be tested to find out if they have an intersex condition as opposed to, you know, low testosterone 🤨)

chutneysauce · 21/11/2023 14:10

I didn't like the abuse she got, which is quite different to objecting to someone playing for/against you. I've just been brought up in a way that you can get your point across without resorting to abuse. I absolutely didn't think it was fair for her to play but at the time it was all within the rules.

chutneysauce · 21/11/2023 14:13

Also whilst it was unfair we were getting whipped every week so it goes to show one player doesn't make that much a difference. However it was unsafe. As I say I didn't enjoy training with her. I was 18 though and as I knew it was in the rules there wasn't much I could do about it.
I will say I feel it's quite common now at my level too to see a transgender player as we see it a lot with opponents. There's definitely a massive difference and it is unfair.

This bit in particular is absolutely horrendous.

Women utilised as a resource, against their wishes/feelings.

I mean, fucking hell, it just lays it out bare.

chutneysauce · 21/11/2023 14:19

I am going back many years ago to be fair but this hasn't really changed.
People just went and got changed elsewhere in the end.

pronounsbundlebundle · 21/11/2023 14:21

What like women in Iran 'got used to' having to wear the hijab after 1979 - that kind of getting used to?

It's a slow creep back to the dark ages where women don't have human rights. They start with women not being able to say 'no' to men seeing them undress and it goes from there. It's the thin end of the wedge.

This is what it's all about really, women not having the freedom to say 'no' to men.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 21/11/2023 14:23

So young women were forced to use their bodies to provide validation for a man's claimed 'women identity' and basically told to put up and shut up.

They could have collectively refused to get changed in front of a man.
The coach could've told the man to change somewhere else.
Or, even better, the man could've fucked off and played on a man's team.

But you didnt get your point accross.

You practice against a man who hurt you, and changed alongside a man you felt uncomfortable with.
