So as the title says a biological male footballer who was allowed by the fa to play on a woman's team with the inevitable consequences for a female player has thrown his tous out of the pram because the women's teams refuse to play against him and is threatening to sue the other clubs so he can play against 16 and 17 year old girls and women

Also, wtf is he playing against 16y olds? Every team my 3 sons has played in has strict age limits by school year and they have to submit ID at the beginning of the season to prove it.

Why is this loser not playing on a man's side. What self respecting 30y old would play with kids. Always with access to children.

I wonder why women do not sue?

Say for example the sorority house in the USA - they are suing their uni I think.

It would be great of there was a legal fund or NGO or some such that would start fighting back through the courts.

I would definately donate - I have 2 dds and really worry for them.

That law suit in the US was dismissed. Incredibly depressing.

Froodwithatowel · 21/11/2023 06:44

Yes, case was dismissed. And everyone, particularly those girls, realised the law enforces the right of males with problems to use them against their consent regardless of context, fairness or the male using them without staying within 'nice' boundaries.

That's a group of voters and future leaders who will be angry, enlightened and not enabling this shit.

highame · 21/11/2023 07:07

I believe the case was more nuanced. The ruling was about the University being able to make these decisions and that the women students needed to get the University policies changed. I think the lawyers did not act in the best interests of the women.

As far as I'm aware, the University has now made changes. I think there was a big backlash from parents who were looking to send their daughters to this University. Alumni also had something to say.

Sometimes, losing a case doesn't mean the gender activists have won.

Giggorata · 21/11/2023 07:24

I've just seen this on the BBC news website - no mention of him breaking a woman's knee.

PuttingDownRoots · 21/11/2023 07:36

This Telegraph article concentrates on why the other teams made the decision

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2023/11/20/football-teams-refuse-transgender-player-injury-sheffield/

Apparently 50 TW players across the country!

@AIstolemylunch its teenagers playing in the adult league.

You've got to laugh at the misuse of 'safeguarding' - it's just so blatantly out of context and it's like your small child discovering a new word which they toally misuse because they don't really understand it but think it might get them what they want. These men really can't think properly can they, too busy with their trips to Malaga airport I guess.

pronounsbundlebundle · 21/11/2023 07:37

It's just... how can you use the word 'safeguarding' without thinking hmmm maybe basic safety for women and not having their bones broken comes above validating a male's special inner lady feelz

DisquietintheRanks · 21/11/2023 08:19

Good. I hope "she" does sue and I hope she wins. Ditto the injured female player. The sooner the FA realises that its current stance on trans players is a load of nonsense the better.

Shades of this.

I’m amazed that the football club can get insurance for a team with a transwomen on it. I wonder if they are actually covered? Insurers are a fairly conservative bunch.

It's partially that. It's also that they get a kick out of subverting our words and arguments. Narcissism 101.

SinnerBoy · 21/11/2023 10:05

It's interesting that he's not advocating for the safeguarding of the girls and women he seeks to play against. I saw in the article that he's supposed to reduce his testosterone to the level specified by the FA, but there is no indication, or claim that he has done so. If that's the case, will he have legal protection, if he sues?

What would happen if he won? Would the women from other teams be marched down to the pitch by the Police?

Or would the clubs simply fold?

RoyalCorgi · 21/11/2023 10:10

Yes, it's part of their whole DARVO approach. Accusing women of making them feel unsafe, or of attacking them or abusing them etc. Most people I think are sensible enough to see through it.

ChateauMargaux · 21/11/2023 10:54

I find the insurance question interesting, it is not commonplace for amateur players to sue for injury - maybe there should be some test cases?

IcakethereforeIam · 21/11/2023 11:35

The Telegraph have covered it. The comments that I looked at were mostly supportive of the women players.

I'd assumed the knee injury was caused by an accidental contact, I had realised he broke her knee just by kicking the fucking ball! The article says that if he had dropped out Rossendale 'Ladies' wouldn't have got a game before next February! I would have had a smidgen of sympathy for him, he'd followed the FA's rules, had it not been for the safeguarding crack.

SidewaysOtter · 21/11/2023 11:50

Just another example of men expecting to be centred and kicking up merry hell when they don't get their own way.

<sigh>

Over 40,000 people went to a women's football match in Manchester yesterday. Allowing chunky blokes to play at grassroots level will kill the development of the women's game stone-dead.

Exactly this

PuttingDownRoots · 21/11/2023 12:36

I wonder if any of the local mens teams have offered a space to this player as part of being Trans inclusive and welcoming?

(On the plus side... I live near here. I'm amazed that there are enough women's football teams in the area to make a league. That is a plus for women's sports!)

When DD was five she thought she could wriggle out of doing anything she didn't want to do by informing me that it was illegal.

What a mess. How have we come to this? Frightening.

I've been wondering for a few days about all the filter usage: don't transwomen actually see each other in public? If they see each other, they most likely know its a man in a dress even if the man is a stranger... do they all think they pass better than the man in the dress they see in the street? They look almost all the same! If you can spot each other then women can spot you too...

A TW I know claims to have a sort of 'trans gaydar' that enables them to spot when they aren't the only trans in the village rather than the the ability to recognise men that the rest of use.

IdealisticCynic · 21/11/2023 12:56

I hope the woman whose knee was broken is taking legal advice as to whether she can sue the FA for creating an inevitable risk to her safety.

Yes. And if she or anyone connected to her is reading, if that requires financial support please get the word out.

RoyalCorgi · 21/11/2023 13:00

I also wonder why on earth the women on the same team put up with this. It obviously gave them an unfair advantage - were they willing to put all other considerations to one side just for the sake of having a better chance of winning?
