Female pool player Lynne Pinches refuses to play transgender opponent and walks off at start of match

A pool player has forfeited her chance to win a top national title in protest at the sport allowing a transgender woman to compete against natal females.

Lynne Pinches packed up her cue and walked off as the final of the Ladies Champions of Champions got under way over the weekend.

Spectators clapped and cheered Pinches’ protest while her opponent, Harriet Haynes, appeared bemused before later picking up the trophy by default.
Pinches had been among a host of top female players to speak out in recent days over transgender women being allowed to compete against them in elite competitions.

Lynne Pinches should have won by default of being the only woman who turned up to a women's sports competition. The other individual never should have got that far.

It's an interesting one isn't it. Lots of people reading this will wonder if men really do have an advantage over women in this particular sport. The fact that she's far from alone in speaking out suggests that yes, they do

Lynne Pinches - You absolute fucking legend! I'm so sorry that this is only way to challenge this madness, and for it you pay a high price but, my God, your integrity is off the scale.

Height is also and larger hand size also an advantage. Men also have better hand eye coordination on average than women.

I guess so, although I played a lot of pool in my teens and twenties, and beat the men at least as often as they beat me.

For me it’s more about the principle of the thing, men shouldn’t be allowed to compete in women’s events and take women’s prize money and prestige.

Another courageous woman losing out because of the utter narcissism of a man. Good for her for standing up for her principles and I’m glad that the audience showed their approval.

The men have a lot more practice time as well, usually at the expense of the female family members who facilitate this.

The governing body of the sport did ban transwomen from playing against women but then rolled back the decision.
