This is what I find galling. He could have just disappeared, been grateful for the millions he won at the expense of women and be glad no one is demanding it back. Instead he just can’t help keep on demanding we all accept the lies and give him more money for it.

Caster had no idea they had a DSD until adulthood. They were raised female and had female appearing genitalia. They were as shocked as anyone else to discover otherwise. A little compassion would go a long way.

God these zombie facts refuse to die

every photo of CS posted as a child shows them wearing male clothes. They’ve said they did not enjoy “girl” things as a child

people make it sound as if CS spent his childhood dressed in pink frocks playing with dolls. It’s simoly not true he was raised as a girl

I don’t think that they are winning many hearts with their determination to tell female athletes to just try harder.

@Theeyeballsinthesky used to be called tomboys. Plenty of active little girls like wearing shorts and t shirts. Have you noticed boys clothes are more practical and easier to play in? Whereas girls clothes tend to be less so. More frills, restricts movement. Even adult womens clothes dont often have pockets. Its a feminist issue.

This “raised as a girl” narrative is useful for CS but clearly utter bollocks.

You can just stop the entire thing in its tracks if you can give one single reason why people should consider Caster a women that doesn't rely on 'because caster wants it' or variations on that theme.

One single reason based on biological fact will do.

There is also that remarkable photo of a teenage Caster on the beach, not looking as you would imagine a teenage girl raised in a community known for its conservative and often religious culture, ie in a modest swim suit covering her breasts, but bare chested ( no sign of breast development) wearing the sort of swim shorts traditionally worn by boys. Caster must like this picture, it is included in his book.

I suspect you are missing some points. Semenya came from an area know to have higher than normal DSD prevalence. This has been discussed in articles and I believe why Ekkart Arbeit travelled to the region to seek athletes with this DSD.

Plus do you think that the lack of menstruation and the effects of a testosterone puberty were not picked up by the health professionals at the time?

You can believe that Semenya did not know, others disagree. And as pp has stated, and this thread has discussed, when Semenya found out they could have respected the fact they were male and started running in the male competition. Instead, they chose to continue to compete in the female category because by then, they could legally.

Do you support Semenya’s decision to keep competing as a female knowing they were male ? Do you have compassion for the female athletes Semenya has repeatedly told to get over their loss and that they didn’t try hard enough?

Other male athletes with DSDs have chosen to not compete as females when they could have taken advantage of this. Semenya made their choice with full information.
