Right...so it's OK because women in the public eye have always been the victims of vitriol? So it's just fair?
Even the excuses are the kind of things men say to defend sexist comments.
This argument only holds water if you believe Izzard to be part of an oppressed class instead of the most privileged.

What does help “the cause” then? Being nice? Being kind? I think these men should be mocked for their ridiculous stereotypical demonstration of what “being a woman” means. See also Sam Smith and “curves” 🙄. The more people point out the ridiculousness the more these men might stop and reflect on the offensiveness of what they’re claiming.
Although that would require a degree of humility, which doesn’t seem to be evident in Izzard.
